My son will be two months old next week, time is flying!

I haven’t had plain vanilla since day 1, so use to adding bananas and fruit probably because I’m use to a banana in the morning (ooh err) also more importantly it gives some added calories without having to have more huel.

The tea spices worked nicely so I will be doing that a few times a week, maybe I will try it without fruit next time.

I haven’t tried it with coffee just yet, only because I enjoy my coffee black and it would be weird for me having it any other way.

Thinking to add peanut butter one day and also maybe Nutella one day, just to mix things up if I’m going to be using huel for the foreseeable future I will need some variety otherwise I will find myself in the greasy spoon for breakie/lunch.

As I write this reply it’s 2:43am lol, little one just went back down from night feed and I’m left feeling super awake!

So yesterday I ended up being awake from 4am to 7am, then my Mrs took over and I went back to bed.
It was 11ish by the time I made up my shakes and I was starving at this point, it made two lots of 700ml and one lot of 500ml.
I only filled one shaker to take to work later on, and decided to drink the other 1200ml at home.
Took me about until 1.30pm to finish it at which point I was stuffed!, I checked in with the office and all was under control so I decided to carry on working from home.
I also went back to sleep around 3pm when I coaxed my son to sleep after his feed.
It was about half 4pm when I got up again and by now I was thinking shall I eat dinner or drink this shake as I wont be able to do both…
I ate the solid food which was just over 300cals, and then later we had some popcorn and some fruit (wanted to make sure I didn’t eat under 1800cals)

This morning then, I had one shaker ready to go from yesterday and I picked up another with dry powder to make up at work.
its almost half 12, I have finished my premixed shake and have to say I am pretty full and am not sure when I will make up the next one…also do not know what is for dinner.

I am starting to feel fuller than usual, maybe due to wierd sleeping patterns over the last few days? Also not having anything immediately in the morning could be doing it too.

Note to self - never ever ever again attempt to mix vanilla huel manually! My bottles are good so it mixed well, however I think I am so use to having some fruit etc in there and also having it blended to an inch of its life that this tasted horrendous!
Any way I had no choice but to gulp it down and chase it with chewing gum lol!

I made some pasta for dinner (my fav) but I made sure portion control was in play : )

I also prepped my shakes for Friday.

Friday - drank my morning shake at home before taking the sprog for his first round of injections, OUCH!
I went straight to the office from the docs and realised when half way into the west end that I forgot my lunch shake at home! I then spent a couple minutes insulting myself before desperately calling in my wife like a little lost boy asking what I should do (shes like my sponsor).
She said, “have nandos or something” (shes no longer my sponsor)
I did have nandos, and I bloody enjoyed it!
I got home and figured I won’t be hungry I will just have a bit of fruit or raw veg…she had ordered a pizza (think she wants me to stay huggable)
Against my better judgement, or total lack therof I indulged in what can only be described as a pornographic no wait pizzagraphic feast…when the carb high wore off I sat on the sofa in the corner knowing that I would have to make good for this atrosity to my gut!
A few months ago I wouldnt have cared, but I’m glad I actually think about burning it off now so that my week still results in a loss.
Today I am aiming for 100% Huel once I leave the office aiming to take a nice long stroll.
Gotta make sure that Monday’s weigh in is positive!

Saturday evening -
Got back from work and ended up snacking rather than huel. Had some popcorn and some veggie crisps.

Sunday -
Had a huel for breakfast ( really do enjoy it for breakfast )
Promised the Mrs I would do a big cook as I was home. Went to my new house in the morning see progress and meet with my builder.
Then I cooked a feast! Charred aubergine curry (baighan burta) and veggie keema with quorn mince and naan.
Super yum!!
Then I got a call that work was overwhelmed so I had to go in for 4 hours to help out…
Little one wasnt too bad over night but a nightmare in the morning.

WEIGH IN
Good news I lost weight! Woo hoo I’m now 110.3kg! Feeling positive at this rate next week I’m hoping to be 109kg. Going to try introduce yoga this week to get myself moving.

I was thinking about yoga, you going to do classes or a home DVD? Have you seen DDP yoga results videos?

I was going to the yoga via YouTube, I saw one that was a 30 day challenge with Adrianne or something like that. Starts you off light…I use to do yoga stretches a few times a week but never advanced beyond that.
DDP YOGA? Never heard of it but will google it now.

mid week weigh in puts me at 110.8kg which is 0.5kg gain!
I thought I had been pretty good with my intake since Monday…possibly the weekend playing catch up?
The Huel is keeping me more than satifised during the day, and I probably am miscalculating dinner (when wife cooks I have to estimate quantities of the ingredients and also serve size)
With that in mind yesterday I reduced my Huel from 250g to 200g basically cutting out 200 calories, to be honest I felt just as satisfied as usual.
I have again finished my 200g for today and feel pretty content.

Although there remains debate over the 10k steps a day goal…I see it for what it is a straight forward target which I know is achievable not necessarily on a daily basis but on a weekly basis as average would be good.
So I am going to treat my steps like calories…(yes I am strange)
I’m creating a 500 cal deficit to help lose weight…so why not create a 500 step surplus.
Last week I did an abismal 14,345 steps…an average of 2049 steps a day
so this week I will aim to beat at least 17,845 steps and as it stands I am at 9356 so far, so with three days to go I need to crank out at least 8489 steps so like nearly 50% more!

Right I’m off for a walk!

Monday Update

Firstly the good news I beat my step target! I managed 19,644 (obviously I do more but just don’t have the phone on me 24/7) So for next week we will keep it going and aim to hit 3500 more.
Target = 23,144

Now the bad news…I gained weight! weighted in 0.7kg heavier than last Monday so I am 111kg.
As per last post during the week I can’t really see what I wouldve done wrong other than not enough water and miscalculating evening meals.
But I know over the weekend I did go OTT and I accept that and so this week I will have to work harder and burn baby burn!

A couple of thoughts: I wouldn’t get too discouraged about a bit of weight variation — I find my weight can easily bounce around by 1kg because of (de)hydration etc. Only the long term trend is meaningful. Also, if you’re having trouble motivating yourself to get out the door and take those steps, you might like to look at some of the mobile 'phone games that force you to get out and go for a walk, for example Ingress. I’d warn that that one can develop into a bit of an obsession though. Ingress needs a decent phone with a good battery and data plan, was otherwise free when I last played it, and works best in urban areas.

Thanks @ chughes for the input. I definately did over indulge though as I know what I ate and drank lol.
Mid week weigh in is promising as I am back down to 110.4kg today. But I do agree weight can fluctuate 1kg thoughout the day and holding water etc.
I have been pretty good so far this week, so lets see how it goes.
Last weekend I spotted a smoothie kit of frozen fruit pouches, which are three different varieties
Has 14 packs in it and there is nutritional info for each pack. The real beauty of it is that they are prepacked so no weighing necessary!
I decided to try 100% huel today, using 300g total Huel and half pack and full pack of the smoothie kits.
I made up 400g of huel with two full kits, as my wife has finally caved in and decided to have one shake today!
So I had half the energy shake which was pretty nice, and I am now drinking my first bottle of the detox one, second bottle will be for dinner.
Have to say its pretty awesome, I am finally getting some variety without having to expel any extra effort to do so!
I bought this from costco and it was around £8 I think…will be making a trip this weekend to stock up!
See how well today goes, as my wife wants me to make her one shake a day I may aswell carry on making 4 shakes and giving her one maybe just from Mon - Fri and for breakfast only on weekend.
I have 4 weeks left until the family wedding in Wales so I am going to really make an effort to keep up my 1kg loss a week and make up for last week.

They look pretty decent, may have to take a trip this weekend - good find!

I’ve done 100% huel Monday-Wednesday (previously just breakfast/lunch for the past 8 weeks) but went a bit off track today on my day off :weary: Deffo easier when at work. Back on it tomorrow :+1:

Still not seeing the weight loss I had hoped for but lost an inch or two which is better than nothing right?!

@Benj082 Yeah those packs are a god send, the Detox one though is a love or hate one, as its very green. I still havent done 100% Huel day despite aiming to do it lol
I was super naughty on Thursday the Mrs had a hankering for good old MC’ds…it was bad but felt so gooooooood!

Any weight loss is a bonus as long as you’re not killing yourself to do it! I really need to get some control going in the evenings, I think I get too excited at dinner time! one of my worst habits has always been lack of portion control.

@aced Thanks for the bump, nice to know I am not posting into the nothingness of the world wide web! Are you having Huel for weight loss or just to make life easier?

Today I made up 125g to take to work with a fruit pack, banana, chia seeds, MCT oil. we are having pasta for dinner so I figured no point having two shakes as I am most likely going to have two helpings at dinner! the twist is that the pasta isnt pasta its made from edamame…saw it the other day and thought I would give it try will let you guys know what its like.

So far only done 10,561 step…another 12,583 to beat by Sunday night to hit my target!
Popping into Ikea later will easily do a few thousand steps there!

Update - didn’t get chance to post yesterday.
Weighed in at 110.7kg, so 0.3kg loss from previous monday, but 0.4kg gain from week before, so still not managing my defecit properly. But still glad I am down something from the week before.

Weekend as usual ended up being a total overindulgence!

Goals for this week -

  1. no alcohol empty calories as enjoyable as it might be!
  2. get my calories in check

Super busy on the go week this week…so will probably stress some weight away!

Its Friday biiiiiiaaatch, shouldn’t celebrate too early as I still have to work tomorrow!
Today’s weigh in was a thing of beauty finally under 110kg!!! whoooooooohoooooo, tipped the scales at 109.5kg.
Now I just have to ensure I don’t ruin it over the weekend…
If I can weigh in under 109kg on Monday I will actually go outside and run, I won’t go very far, but I will run fatboy run!

Ultra busy start to the week…didn’t quite hit my overly optimistic goal so I won’t be running any laps! (maybe I should it might help lol)

Monday Weigh in 109.7kg
Loss of 1kg from last monday!
Total loss so far 4.3kg in 6 weeks
Average rate of loss per week, 0.7kg

I am happy pretty happy with the results so far, hope to continue at this average rate of loss. Not so fussed about a week here of there of gain at least I am enjoying my food (and drink)

The good thing is Mon-Fri I don’t think, I just Huel for Breakfast and Lunch.

More and more people ask me what is it that you’re drinking (they all assume its a weight loss product due to my plump shape) Most have asked, “is that a protein shake” and to be honest in the beginning I just use to say yes but now I take the time to explain Huel in all it’s glory!

For the umpteenth time I am going to try have a 100% day today as the weekend is event filled and I want to enjoy it. Hopefully I can keep this up until Friday, I will be having around 1800 cals total (huel plus fruit etc that I add)

Fingers crossed I make it through today…!

I finally made it through a whole day of Huel!!!
I did have to eat two bites of my wife’s nachos only because she made her special gaucomole which I can’t resist!
I almost had to force down the Huel as I was pretty full up but I would have been way under calorie goal if I hadn’t finished it.
Anyways seeing as that worked well, I am going to go 100% again today and tomorrow.
Weighed in today at 109.4kg so 0.3 down since Monday which hopefully means I am on track if I ensure I don’t go crazy on the weekend!
