Every bottle of RTD I ever open (standard, not black edition) has dried up flaky bits in the rim. I can shake it for literally up to 10 minutes, really aggressively, and they don’t go away. And if they slip off the bottle and into the Huel while I’m drinking it they make me gag a bit.
The best way I’ve found to deal with them is to physically wipe them away before I drink.
Does anyone have any suggestions to prevent or remove?
To be honest, this is never something I’ve noticed before. I store my RTD’s in the garage and only keep 1 in the fridge at a time, as instructed, and that one is in there for a week tops before being consumed.
Under the foil there are hard bits around the inside of the bottle neck (rim). You can wipe them away with some kitchen roll but until I read this thread I’d never actually noticed them before and don’t recall having any issues if one finds its way into my mouth which can’t be a regular occurance.
There is a straightforward explanation for this. At times, during transportation, the contents of the bottle can get shaken around. This results in a thin film of liquid forming in the inner walls of the bottle. Over time, evaporation occurs, leaving behind solidified flakes or lumps that can become dislodged when the bottle is shaken.
Of course, these things we take seriously. If you find that this continues to happen, please drop us an email to uk@help.huel.com
