Amount of Huel required for weight gain seems to involve excessive protein

I tried blending coconut oil in my U/U to thicken it up a bit when I was on my first bag and didnt realise it needed less water than Vanilla Huel. I was also left with some interesting coconut lumps :frowning:

Okay, perhaps the coconut oil is not such a great idea. However, I can confirm that bananas do indeed go well with vanilla Huel. That’s what I’m drinking today :yum:

What about other types of oil? I would rather supplement fat from other sources than to increase the carbs.

Flaxseed oil might be a good choice

I remember this study, thumbs up for linking to it. If I recall correctly, the correlation between the negative effects and protein intake was greatly reduced or eliminated in case of non-animal protein. One of the reasons why I am happy that Huel is vegan. Tim Ferriss seems to be overly pessimistic - we can have our cake and eat it… unless, as Tim, you are a carnist ;).

It is also worth noting that diet high in carbohydrates seems to come with its own set of problems (e.g. please see this thread). I would be interested to see if some of the carbohydrates in Huel could be safely replaced with more protein and fats.

Seeing that Huel contains more protein than every other powdered food on the market, I doubt they will add more.
