Have been consuming huel everyday for a decade myself. I’m certain that I had read that it wasn’t recommended for under 4’s but 4-6 can have 1.5 scoops. However I can’t find that article anymore. What I can find now is this ( The Huel Powder Formula Explained | Huel US ) which says:
Children: Huel Powder is not suitable for children under 4 years of age. However, older children may include Huel Powder as part of a balanced diet that includes a variety of other foods; Huel should not be their sole source of nutrition as they have different nutritional requirements to adults. For more information, see our Children, Adolescents and Huel article.
However, the article linked from that says:
Children Under 6
Huel Products are not suitable for children under 6, babies or infants below or during weaning age. Parents of children aged 6-7 years old should consult their doctor or relevant health care professional before allowing their child to consume Huel Products.
And I can no longer find the one that said 1.5 scoops was OK for 4-6 yrs old.
Anyway, I’ve been giving my 5 yr old 1 full scoop + little less than a quarter most mornings for the past 4 months. Did I do something bad? Should I stop immediately? I decided to check the online guidance again this morning and panicked when I couldn’t find what I thought I had certainly read in the past and have been cursing myself since. Can anyone comment?
So many things going through my mind now, like if a scoop and a tiny bit more (less than a quarter) every morning would be too much protein for a 5 year old’s kidneys to handle etc.

Nonsense, it’s fine. Huel just has to legally absolve themselves of responsibility.
Upwards of 100g of protein/day has been tested on 3 year old children with no ill effects. Not through Huel though, nobody is officially going to admit to that even though it is happening.
See for example section 7.2 on Dietary protein intake and human health - Food & Function (RSC Publishing) DOI:10.1039/C5FO01530H

So had a chat with a member of the Nutrition team
No need to panic, the nutritional content of 1 and a bit scoops of Huel Powder should be fine for a 5-year-old based on government dietary recommendations for this age group. That said, Huel isn’t explicitly designed for children, so I wanted to know if there’s a particular reason you’ve opted to include it as part of your child’s morning meal. Have you been recommended by a paediatrician to incorporate it? There are many food supplements specifically designed with children’s nutritional requirements in mind that might be a better fit.
