Is there any Huel without probiotics now?

Perhaps you can use another Huel product instead of the powder if you don’t want to consume probiotics. I’ve only ordered the powder so far, but to my knowledge not all Huel products contain probiotics.

If you look at pharmaceutical supplements that contain probiotics they are quite expensive; but this may be due to the higher quality or greater purity, I don’t know.

If I had the choice I would like to keep the status quo with probiotics; if it was removed I would feel that something was “missing” - although I know that both the evidence for and the evidence against probiotics is very weak…

There are very few differences in the manufacturing of pharma or food grade probiotics – only their preservation and storage. Most OTC supplements you buy in a pharmacy use food grade products so the price of them is dictated only by the ludicrously over inflated and barely regulated pricing structure used in that business model. Many studies of shown that the markup on OTC products in pharmacies ranges from 58-1100% depending on the product. The whole business is basically a license to print money.

Staple food products on the other hand usually operate on very tight margins. FMCG brand owners normally operate on margins of 3-10% after all of their costs are factored in as they rely on volume sales.

Wow, you are really informed on such topics. Where did you get that knowledge? Private interest or professional background?

professional background - i’ve worked in packaging and brand deployment for 35 years - mostly with FMCG and Pharma Brand owners.
