I’m a 50 year old male, 13 stone 2 lb, suffer with an under active thyroid, and this is looked after with 150 mcg of levothyroxine which keeps me on a very even keel. I do around 15-20 mins of exercise a day, sedentary work life of desk and driving.
I started on Huel 3-4 months ago and love it. Mainly started to see if it could help with my high cholesterol and low liver function. Should find this out in March at next check up.
I have, 5 days per week, 2 scoops for breakfast, 3 for lunch and 3 in the evening with a snack of toast and apple etc and then regular food at the weekend never totalling more than 1600 cals per day. So I assumed that I would have weight dropping off me, but have only managed to drop 10 lb in the last 3-4 months. Not really too bothered, just puzzled as to why this is the case when in the past I have eaten lots of regular and junk but not really been “very” overweight. Could my under active thyroid be causing my metabolism to be slow?
Thanks for reading.
This is a common side effect, yes.
