Huel nicer from a blender

Most coffee manufacturers are not without their problems…Douwe Egberts are tobacco traders…not very keen on that industry myself…alas plant based milks are in the main produced by Dairy conglomerates too.

Anyway I’ll get off my high horse…(cos horse riding isn’t vegan either), and leave him to toke away in peace. :stuck_out_tongue:

So I’m going to try the coffee tomorrow morning (preparing tonight). I had previously tried an espresso shot but there wasn’t enough flavor - It would have needed 2 or 3 to taste nice for that volume.

I have been sticking to a 100g / 500ml basic recipe although with the currently added smoothie the total is 800ml and I like it. I should experiment with different thicknesses though and i do need more Huel as i’m currently coming up short on calories daily. So first of i’ll go to 125g/500ml and see how much the change makes.

As promised here is the picture of my lunch as detailed in the original post, I was surprised to see that it was 800ml before and after mixing as I had assumed it would increase in volume as it was mixed/aerated. Clearly I don’t know what i’m talking about. It does feel more aerated though.

Thanks for all the comments on here even if i am now scared to name a coffee brand :coffee:

try adding 3 super ripe bananas to the huel + water and blend on high speed. drink straight from the blender jug

Sainsburies have thier smoothie makers now for 16 quid with bottles. https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/shop/gb/groceries/blenders--mixers---food-processors-44/sainsburys-smoothie-maker-grey-129663104-p

Perfect for breakfast and lunch for me.

I personally find it more satisfying a bit lumpy from a shaker. But each to their own!

Hi I’m quite new to using Huel but have found using my nutribullet is the only way to get a consistency that I like. I mix 3 scoops with 500ml of water and I do 1 scoop of vanilla to 2 scoops of unsweetened. Then I do 3/4 spoon of chocolate flavouring and 80g of frozen berries. Totally delicious and Im seriously addicted :grinning: I also chill the mix in the fridge before adding the frozen berries. The final mixture is delicious and think and just how I like it.

Quick update on #BlenderWatch guys!

I’m currently using a 1500ml blender, filled with 1250ml water, then with 400g of Huel added - that’s my current daily intake based on a calorie restriction calculated against my BMI in order to lose weight.

That mix blends to a viscosity acceptable so as not to have any ‘waste’ sticking to the blender walls after pouring it out, which I decant into 4 x 650ml bottles which distributes out to a pleasingly perfect 400ml each, then each bottle is topped up with water to the neck (so over the 650ml marker which is probably about 660ml total), which gives just the right viscosity for 4 pleasing meals throughout the day.

However, digressing a bit there, that mix is taxing the limit of my 300w blender, and the mix is right to the brim. That link being a 2L 500w blender would seem like the holy grail for this kind of mix, and at only £30… I’m having that!

Will report back on it’s effectiveness but it seems to be perfect doing those maths… just thought someone else in a similar situation may benefit from my find!! Happy Hueling!!

I have a Hinari Genie that I bought ages ago. It does a good job of blending the huel. The only irritating thing is that the lid on the jug is slightly warped and doesn’t quite sit flush with the top of the jug even when clipped on. The result is that when the motor kicks in a small amount of liquid comes through the gap and runs down the outside of the jug. I tried using less water to prevent this with the intention of adding more water in as it was going, the lid has a hole to do this, but the problem was actually worse with less water. It only has one speed so you can’t even start it off slow and speed it up.

It was cheap though, about £20 IIRC.
