I would say so given the fire sale. Huel doesn’t do sales in general otherwise.
Being allowed to die of natural causes. They said back in Feb that no more products were being developed for the range.
Well my order’s arrived and, I love the t’s and hoodie.
Now I want more, for my kids too, but I don’t want to pay 25% more than I did a couple of days ago
Isn’t it now 100% more?
eg £10 @75% off is £2.50, & at 50% off is £5. So twice the price.
Gutted that the fleece is out of stock
But very happy with my new zip-up hoodie and running(/waddling) top
Without wishing to gloat, the fleece was well worth the money.
Ya git. I hope you spill spicy Huel Pot Noodle on it and it forever smells like a spice rack.
… not that that would be too bad I guess…
Disappointed with the joggers. Had them a week and they’ve got a hole in the seam.
The 5-year replacement guarantee should sort that for you.
Hope it’s warm even without the hot spices…it’s been snowing here…
Not if they’ve flogged them all off at a 75% discount!
Yes, that’s what I was thinking… if production has ended that 5-year pledge might need adjustment.
It could have been a success, just not at this price. All hugely successful companies that made it to expand to other markets offered their products exceptionally cheap or even for free at the beginning and made their “price adjustments” when they were established.
Sustainability is also something everybody finds good in principle, but not as a priority and certainly not if it means that something is more expensive.
Or where do you buy your clothes normally?
Second-hand, from charity, wherever possible. Shoes are always difficult. Underwear is impossible. Sustainability is absolutely the priority, tho’ affordability has to come first.
Still think a Huel underwear range would’ve been good.
Yes, that’s why I steal mine from washing lines.
One of the hoodies I got for my daughter was dirty on arrival, they refunded it, didn’t even entertain my request for an exchange. (Was wrong size so would have had to go back anyway).
Can’t see how they’ll do with the 5 year guarantee.
Huelwear failed because it’s a contradiction. It’s expensive, which it has to be if it’s ethically produced. But it doesn’t look expensive, because it has Huel printed on it. It looks like free promotional clothing.
People who want the minimal look (like me) buy clothing with no visible branding. People who put sustainability first buy second-hand. People who want visible branding buy Adidas and Levis.
It also launched at a bad time, when people are skint and getting skinter.
Huel’s an interesting brand because it sits between sporty and geeky, and feels quite cool. But it’s a food brand. It has no value as the launchpad for a premium clothing line.
Standard consumer rights conditions I would guess - if a company discontinues a product within its guarantee or warranty period - they can either offer an alternative of similar value or a repair/refund. (this would only cover manufacturing defects though - not normal wear and tear)
gotcha. also noticing it’s ‘repair or replace’ so even when there’s no stock left you can get them stitched or whatever.
Yeah but is it going to be cheaper to repair something or tell someone to just bin it and give a refund?
