Starting Weight: 11st 1lbs
Week 0: 10st 10lbs (-5lbs, pre Huel)
Week 2: 10st 3lbs (-7lbs, 100% Huel)
Hey fellow Huelers
I’m 21, 5ft 0ins, 10st 10lbs (as of yesterday - I’ve lost 5lbs in the past week or so as I started at 11st 1lb) with various chronic illnesses (Ehlers-Danlos, PoTS, MCAD, histamine intolerance, severe chronic abdominal pain, PCOS…)
I started Huel as my friend who is also unwell tried it as she was struggling to eat properly and it was really improving things for her and also because my condition is made worse when I eat, it flares up my pain and also exacerbates bowel issues. When I have been on a liquid diet before I have seen major improvements, I am housebound and I am hoping that this will enable me to get out of the house more often.
I tried the samples (V1.2) of both vanilla and unsweetened/unflavoured and enjoyed them both (I mixed skim milk with my try of vanilla and water with 2 tsp of canderel with my try of unflavoured/unsweetened).
I have been advised by my endocrinologist to lose weight as my height means that at my current weight my BMI is in the obese range, and flaring up my PCOS (I have an insulin resistance phenotype also).
I used the calorie calculator and it says to lose 2lbs a week I must consume 640 calories a day. So I was wondering if you guys had any advice or any flavour combinations to try out? Please note I am anaphylactic to peanuts, allergic to eggs and all other nuts and I have histamine intolerance so I can’t have chocolate (well I can have a tiny amount), bananas, kiwis, citrus fruit, strawberries, raspberries, spinach, soya and some others I can’t remember off the top of my head but those are the main culprits
I have ordered 1 vanilla and 1 U/U as well as the chocolate flavour thing too as I figured a little of that would be nice if I don’t use it all the time
Oh and my target weight is somewhere between 6st 7lbs and 7st 0lbs
I know it may seem like an unrealistic goal but when I was younger and not sick I did drop from 10st 3lbs to 7st 2lbs so I know it is within my reach - I’d do the same method again but my body is in a ‘metabolic slump’ and I am literally sedentary, unlike the fit active person I was then.
Many thanks, I appreciate it!
