Stainless Steel Shaker

In my experience all plastic shakers smell after some time, no matter how good they are washed. A collegue gave me the advice, that stainless steel shakers prevet this.

I find stainless steel drinking cups make water taste peculiar. Wouldn’t fancy drinking Huel shakes out of cold metal.

Surprised to read about @345976’s many shaker failures, was thinking they last forever as mine’s been used daily since 2021 and it’s still good. Can’t imagine ever needing to replace it.

I have tried a stainless steel shaker in the past (when Huel was using their original shaker) and I don’t find they make the water taste weird, but they certainly aren’t as pleasant to hold if they’ve been in the fridge overnight as cold metal feels worse than the cold Huel shaker. It’s the primary reason I stopped using it.

I’ve been using two of the Huel branded shakers since they launched and both still look and perform as new. They’ve been used many hundreds of times each. The Huel logo is still perfect too. No deformation of the lid and the ring on the cap is also showing no signs of deteriorating (a problem others have mentioned).

I only hand wash them (with warm water and a small amount of washing liquid). The only time they may smell is if a little water has been left in and the shaker assembled.

I’m still using the old old shakers. The logo has mostly gone and they look a bit scuffed, but they stay closed and they don’t stink.

I must have at least 5 Huel shakers, 2 of the current design and 3 OG designs and some of them date back to when I began with Huel in 2016 and none of them are damaged in any way except the logo has come off 2 of them which was common on the first shakers. The only shaker I’ve ever had to bin was a Jimmy Joy one which came with a mixing ball, the screw on neck cracked and gave up.
