I’ve been using Huel for a few weeks now but I have discovered that a 3 scoop huel meal in the evening before a long run the next day followed by a recovery 3 scoop meal when you have finished the run works wonders for fuelling for running.
I don’t think I would like to have Huel just before running as it can sit a bit heavy in your stomach but the night before was great. I always take loads of energy blocks, bananas and Soreen bars when I do a long run but today I only ate about half of what I took.
I’m a slow runner so it took me 3 and a half hours to do 17 miles and I normally consume quite a bit of food on the way round. I’ve got a marathon in 2 weeks so I’m going to have Huel the night before and take some to have on the way back as a recovery drink.
