Blended huel-what looks like blood through it now

Hi, new to huel, used the shaker last night but cannot stand the taste of the sweetener in the vanilla one so this morning I attempted to change it up and replace a scoop and a half with a banana, almond milk and a tea spoon of honey. Well I blended it together and what looks like blood is now through it. I am just wondering what it is because I don’t think I’ll be able to drink it until I find out. Thanks in advance and eagerly await replies (cause I’m starving :joy:) image

As found on a previous post -

That is the Lycopene.

To quote the Huel guys:

"Addition of Lycopene

Lycopene is a naturally occurring carotenoid phytonutrient. Lycopene is especially high in tomatoes and is partly responsible for their red colour (meaning that Huel may have some small slight red flecks). Lycopene is a potent antioxidant with a range of benefits (2). Antioxidants are required to quash free radicals, and can slow the aging process, reduce cardiovascular disease risk and reduce the risk of some cancers. There is particularly good evidenced that the long term use of lycopene reduces the risk of prostate cancer (4,5,6,7). We’ve added lycopene to Huel v2.0 as we feel its inclusion is of significant benefit to health."

Freaked me out too at first but yes, completely normal. I get a lot of it in all my shakes!

I noticed this too. If the sight of it is unappealing, you could try leaving your Huel to stand for a minute after blending, then blend for a few more seconds to even out the colour.
