📓 Daily Journal: Intermittent Fasting (16:8), ED Recovery and Weight Loss

Day 355 10 day countdown before my 1 year Hueliversary!!!

Weight: 47.6kg

Food Intake: (1381kcal in)

  • Lunch—MochaFS Huel, 1/2 Huel Bar, 1/2 Quest Bar, 1 coffee
  • Snacks—1 packet pork puffs, 1/4 caramel Nakd, 1/2 Huel Bar
  • Dinner—1/2 BBQ jackfruit Pizza, 250g broccoli w sesame sauce, 100g mushroom, 50g chicken

Activity: (1743kcal out)

  • 7,846 steps total didnt do any exercise but am ok with it bc I’m still feeling ill!

Other Observations:

  • It’s always handy to have Huel in my bag & a Huel Bar in case—went out for lunch with a Friend today and instead ended up just getting coffee, so it was great I had my Huels ready and didn’t have to spend money on not-great food I didn’t actually feel like eating haha
  • I guess that’s one thing I’m taking away: Huel doesn’t actually detract from life but instead adds more flexibility to it. I can go to back to back lectures in a hectic schedule; I can meet friends; I can plan life without having to worry about starving throughout the day due to circumstance and being so hungry I overeat after. Since Huel can give me consistent fuel throughout the day whenever I need it :))

And just look how far you’ve come! :tada:

  • Story Time! TURNS OUT, my gal pal just tried Huel?!! “Tastes like sawdust :’(” I got so excited when I heard she tried Huel LOL I immediately went into Huel-fangirl diagnostic mode
“how did you make your Huel?”
“I did what the box said, put 3 scoops of Huel in and then wate—”
“Aha, you gotta put the water first! did you drink it right away?”
    “Yeah
?”
“Aha, try sticking it in the fridge overnight!”
She’s gonna let me know how that goes, is it weird I am sO EXCITED for her Huel journey and to have more Huel buddies? :joy::joy:
  • LOL HAHAHA all my friends were so shocked that I’ve been drinking Huel for lunch for the past year; I’m surprised at how normal and part of routine it’s become :’)

Huel bars only, a full week ?
Well that seems like a challenge.

EDIT : would’ve believed ya, but that’s something I wouldn’t try myself :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, she has recorded her food intake here for an entire year. With a level of discipline like that I can imagine living of bars for a week is peanuts

It’s not the discipline what I meant

Oh hahaha my bad
Uhm yeah that could be an issue

Other Observations:

  • really not looking forward to not starting my day with Huel for the next week :sob:

Nope, every time someone sees me drinking my Huel they ask “why are you trying to lose weight?”
I’m sure not trying to lose weight, in contrary, trying to gain some is even better for me.
Whenever this happens, I start explaining them about Huel as much as I can and realise I might
be a tad too much of an enthusiast when it comes to this.

Day 360

—Hueliversary Countdown: 5 Days!—

Weight: 47.9kg

Food Intake: (1555kcal in)

  • Lunch—1 Huel Orange Bar, 2 bites fried mars bar, 125g pulled pork & haggis w mustard mayo & crackling
  • Snacks—1 packet pineapple chips, 1 packet beef jerky, 500ml sparkling lemon water
  • Dinner—rice w tofu & quorn mince & stir fried asian style veggies

Activity: (2252kcal out)

  • 23,285 steps total

Other Observations:

  • On holiday with friends now; glad to have my Huel bars with me bc they make me feel stable (mentally, like I’m getting some decent balanced nutrition in at least and starting the day right)
  • But had measured portions of shared fried mars bars and calorific pulled pork, because when in Scotland, haggis amiright?
  • I like having this staple base of ~nutrition~, and still being able to explore local food as a treat (instead of for huge meals per se); makes it feel all the more valuable and truly appreciated as an anomaly.
  • Huel’s helping me save so much food money when travelling ahah gr8 stuff. Lowkey wish I brought my powder xD have you guys brought Huel overseas & on trips before? what was your experience like?

(Imagines beach :beach_umbrella:)

Maybe not then!

Enjoy your holiday and try not to think about the powder too much! I’ve taken the bars on most holidays and ended up not using them! Although I always always always feel like I’m not 100% without Huel in my system, and the first one after I come back feels like I’m switching something inside me back on

Day 361

—Hueliversary Count-down: 4 Days!—

Weight: 47.4kg even with no bp and fully enjoying meals out & cooking with friends!

Food Intake: (~1584kcal in)

  • Lunch—1 Huel Orange Bar, orzo pasta w vegetable curry, roasted veggies, 1 easy peeler
  • Snacks—2 bars, 5 schoko linsen
  • Dinner—180g cottage cheese, tomatoes, cucumber w hummus, roasted veggies, risotto, sparkling lemon juice

Activity: (2507kcal out)

  • Baby hike (edit: not so baby hike; I was with tall Germans HAHA. Beautiful Pentlands!)
  • 29,370 steps total

Other Observations:

  • The bars are honestly brilliantly portable for hikes. I also realised I love the whole eating-for-fuel thing, with special meals for occasions and enjoyment. Huel’s how-to-use-Huel, essentially.
  • I love having a higher TDEE omg makes each food item seem like a less significant %. Is this what being taller feels like :unamused: (but also had to hike & walk my ass off for that calorie burn so lmao I’m gonna have to be content with 1500-1750 :’)

Inspired by @ChrisH0402 and @anon52829317’s ideas, I’m thinking of doing a (not so impressive) Huel challenge for my Hueliversary: eating 1500kcal+ worth of Huel Bars (~6-7) and seeing what happens, thoughts? XD or any Huel challenge suggestions?

A little suggestion, stay home if you’re actually doing this
Maybe consider a different kind of Huel challenge ? :stuck_out_tongue:
Really think it’s a terribly inconvenient idea

Btw, in one go or throughout the day ?

why am I always being mentioned in these kinda things ?! :smirk:

We could organise a Huel Bar eating contest :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: With a leadership board. I’m very curious who would hold the record :joy:

That actually sounds pretty bad, a record of eating or the consequences ?
