Hot & Savoury Meal Pack Launch UK/EU! đŸ”„

I can do my absolute best to make sure I revisit this and let you know!

I understand that. These decisions made are all based on a variety of metrics. We are so confident in these changes that really believe that you’ll love them

No more omega 3 in these in any form tho.

We’ve come back to you on your other comment Luke :slightly_smiling_face:

Tried the revamped Mexican Chilli meal pack yesterday and WOW
it is actually so much better than before. Previously, it felt only ‘ok’, with some nice flavour but very mushy/sludgy, and overall could take it or leave it – one of my least liked flavours.

Now Mexican Chilli is delicious! Shifted way more toward the texture and appearance of a home-cooked meal, the individual ingredients can be tasted more, tastes more ‘meaty’, still saucy but not mushy at all, ze spice is nice, really enjoyed it. I was initially disappointed with quinoa being removed, but I can definitely see why this decision was made and ultimately it paid off. Huel have done a brilliant job on this!

Never thought I’d be regularly ordering Huel’s Mexican Chilli, but will be going forward. Got a few more flavours delivered so I’ll report back on those too.

Also off topic but tried the new Cookies & Cream Black Edition RTD – very tasty as well. Some great launches recently!

Hmm, think I will have to try the Mexican now. I wasn’t that keen on the last version but I might like this by the sound of it.

just looked at the eu website and, from the perspective of “hot and savoury meal packs” it’s a bit of a disaster.

  • in the “shop” they don’t appear in the top menu
  • if you click on “shop all” they appear as a generic white sack halfway down the page (unrecogniseable to me)
  • in fact I didn’t even know that what I buy is called a “hot and savoury meal pack”!!!
It looks like they’ve been marginalised and I’d be surprised if new customers discover them at all. The new site is a bit Microsoft and needs work to become appealing.

Good bye, carbonara :frowning:

Sorry to hear that you’re not a fan of the new website! We’ve had really positive feedback overall since the changes, but we’re always looking to make it better so the feedback is appreciated.

The Meal Packs do show on the ‘Shop’ drop down menu, they are under the first option ‘Nutritionally Complete Instant Meals’ on the right hand side. They have recently changed name as part of the new launch, so that may be why it wasn’t so clear for you.

This is so great to hear! The team have worked hard to making improvements and I think they’ve smashed it with this one.

Did you get round to giving these ago?

No, not yet Mark. I have three different ones: thai, mexican and madras, and I’ll be having a thai one for lunch today. I had to get them delivered to a pick-up point so didn’t actually get them until Friday afternoon and was busy all weekend.

I’ll update this afternoon.

I was gonna add some to my recent order, but I’ll wait for reviews, and for production to shift from the USA.

So colour wise it’s not much different from the original Thai meals. Opening the bag and decanting into the meal pot it smells similar and once you pour in the liquid it smells very similar as it cooks too.

I added 200ml boiling water to my pot and stirred it, but 200ml wasn’t enough water. So 220 and still needed more. I rounded it up to 250 but probably would have been ideal with 240ml.

I let it sit for more than 5 minutes - probably nearer ten before eating it, which is what I do with all the meal pots and sachets anyway.

Taste wise it’s not dissimilar to the original Thai pack but with maybe a little more heat to it but texture is indeed far better. Plentiful meaty chunks which may not be to everyone’s taste, but I like them and definitely none of the slimy mouthfeel that I guess was the primary reason for change.

I like it a lot and I guess many others will too. It’s a good revision.

I’ll try one of the others tomorrow.

Congrats on producing one of the least appealing photos I’ve ever seen. And I’ve seen some stuff.

I agree, it is not the most magnificent photo. I will try harder with the Mexican chilli one tomorrow.

So I received my order today of the revised Mexican Chilli and Madras flavours. First of all, I really like the new packaging and sachets. I tried most of the original H&S pouch flavours and been using the savoury pots every week since they were first released.

So, I thought I would try the Mexican Chilli first for lunch. Oh my days! This new version is so much better in my opinion. The taste and texture is fantastic, it actually tastes more like eating home cooked chilli. There seems be more of a heat kick in this one, but that might be just me. Overall, they have done a really good job with this and I am actually looking forward to my next one. Can’t wait to try the Madras flavour.

About 10 year Huel user here. I’ve been loving the hot & savory meals, but this latest change to pouches and the change in the recipe seems weird. I mostly use the chicken & mushroom which I love(d). The current two scoops amount per pouch is a bit too little to me so I’ve been using 3 scoops in the past with the bags, but now with the pouches being two scoops, it’s annoying because I either have to use 1,5 pouch or I naturally go and snack more because one pouch isn’t enough, which defeats the purpose of having accurate nutrition. Also, what are these sponges that are new in the chicken & mushroom pouches? They feel like eating a sponge.

For the fact you’re a fan, i’ll take that win!

Awesome to hear you are a fan! It really is a step up in my opinion.

Keep us posted what you think tomorrow
