Yeah, it would be great to have the options regulars have- the mac and cheeze for example, or cajun pasta? Often with gluten free all options are rice based and usually spicy, its nice to have more choice! Thanks for your help and consideration of my suggestion ![]()
Just came to add my appreciation of the new recipes. I was gutted about the format change and considered switching, but reluctantly decided to try the pouches. And fair play to Huel, the taste and textures of the grain flavours have been completely transformed. I had given up on the boring grain flavours but they are now back on the menu!
Mexican - this is the biggest improvement for me, I love the paprika flavours and the texture makes it unbelievably close to a freshly-made chilli.
Madras - still hot but the heat has been dialled back and is now pleasant rather than painful, with more tomato flavour.
Thai - seems a bit hotter than the original but not too overpowering, good complex flavour.
Yeah I agree the Mexican is the biggest improvement so far, canāt get enough of it! So far I have tried Mexican, Madras, Thai Green and Cajun.
This is what I love to hear, thank you so much for the feedback you absolute legend!
Thank you!
Iām going to order in the next few days. Do you know if most of the US-made stock has been sold by now? Iāll order Madras for sure but Iād like to try a few others.
I know itās annoying that I keep going on about it. I donāt expect you to rummage through the warehouse for me, just tell me what you reckon.
Nah donāt sweat it!
Let me ask the question and lock in some details for you to bring you up to speed ![]()
I come with news.
Weāre still currently selling the US-produced stock, but the final production run is wrapping up this month.
Between now and around November, stock will be a mix of US and UK-manufactured product. We canāt guarantee which batch a customer will receive, as the stock is a combination. Itās essentially luck of the draw! That said, the product quality and formulation are consistent, so there shouldnāt be any noticeable difference.
Thanks very much Mark. Iāll stick to my usuals for now and get some H&S for Christmas.
Hi,
Has there been a flavour change to the Cajun Pasta in the pouches?
It was my go-to couldnāt-eat-enough Hot and Savoury. I loved it as it had the right balance of creamy cajun flavour.
Now, for me, itās got some very unpleasant metallic back taste which lingers after finishing it. Itās got a lot more of the chewy stuff, which I can put up with but is like eating styrofoam.
the lovely Cajun flavour from before is so diluted now and with the other two points from above, I really wouldnāt buy it again until i knew it had changed.
On a plus note, I actually prefer and really like the new Mexican Chilli. It tastes a lot meatier and Mexican than before.
I bloody love the chunks in fiery chickn
Gotta say I think the bolognese, while still far and away my favourite is not quite as good as it was in the big packs
I still have some of the old packs and have compared. I preferred the penne to the fusilli.
And is there less salt in the new separate packs? Or lessā¦some other flavour? Seems less intense
If itās salt I would be ok with that. Happy even.
Understood but the biggest problem we would run into with the penne is powder getting stuck in the tubes meaning it wouldnāt cook properly, thatās why we made the change!
In terms of salt, let me grab some details and come back to you ![]()
Hey! Thanks for your patience on this one.
In terms of flavour/salt, minimum changes were made!
In terms of less intense now, Iām a little confused, maybe itās your mind playing tricks on you, hah!
Also, the changes in pasta have obviously helped with the overall experience of the product, meaning it cooks better, leaving fewer clumps, etc so this means you are getting a more thorough taste experience rather than a bit here and a bit more here, if that makes sense?
Thank you for coming back to me. On my last large bag now. Iāll stop thinking about it soon.
. It just tastes a little bit less intense to me, maybe a mixing issue as you say - but seems like every portion. Maybe I just noticed those minimal changes you referred to. And the texture of the penne is definitely more authentic. You have to leave it a bit longer but it doesnāt go limp like the fussili.
Doesnāt matter, itās still great and Iāll still buy and eat it
Question -
Would you consider increasing portion size in hot and savoury to 500 Kcal?
400 is just not quite enough
I agree, and I see now on the latest ones Iāve received that the package is 105g and itās 385kcal/pouch, and thatās really not enough for a lunch. Seconding 500kcal idea big time.
