Introducing Huel Lite Ramen!

Hello everyone, I hope you’re all doing well!

We have a really huge and exciting announcement today, as the title suggests, we are officially launching our first ramen product with our new Huel Lite Hot and Savoury Ramen!! This is a broth & noodle product rather than traditional Hot & Savoury, and is an idea that has been long requested by you all. After a lot of hard work to get it right, we’re stoked to finally be able to share it with you all!

We said a while ago when we delisted some of the Hot and Savoury Pots that it would not be the last time that you saw Hot and Savoury in that form. The Ramen Lite is filling this nice little niche and will be a great option for an on-the-go, healthy, warm, and nourishing noodle meal that is full of flavour. It’s a lighter-calorie instant ramen pot than others you may be familiar with, but it’s 100% nutritionally complete and packed with 25g of protein and 26 essential vitamins and minerals. More details on the contents below!!

- Less than 230 calories

  • 25g protein per serving
  • 26 vitamins and minerals
  • High fibre

It will only be available in the U.K. at this time, but will be coming to the EU Late June/Early July. We’re going to have 4 flavours to start which are the following:

- Classic “Chicken” Flavour

  • Spicy Thai Noodles
  • Sweet Chilli Noodles
  • Katsu Curry Noodles (coming soon!)

This will be rolled out for everyone in the U.K. on the 2nd of June, but we really wanted to give everyone here the chance to be the first to try this, so we are doing a pre-sale for our U.K. subscribers that’s live right now!! Details on that below:

- Subscribers add to their next subscription order as early access perk

  • 3 Lite flavours at launch (Katsu and Selection box coming soon)

Also worth mentioning is that a select number of Tesco stores will soon be seeing something brand new within this new range, along similar lines to this, popping up too, so keep your eyes peeled!

Again this has been something that we’ve had cooking up for a while, and if this sounds a bit too “lite” for you, we have some other ideas in the works as well  either way we hope that you all are able to give our new Ramen a try and let us know what you think!! As always, any questions drop 'em in the comments below!

Thanks :slightly_smiling_face:

Great stuff! I just received the email, and clicked the link to add it to my next order. It says it’s £18.30 but doesn’t tell me how many pots I get for that?

Love to hear you’re a fan!

So that is for one box of 6 but it will be just 1 flavour! :fire:

Sounds interesting but not sure that amount of calories is for me. And the price point seems quite high per calorie. I might buy a load when I use my 50% off voucher but I don’t need a lo-cal product, but at same time love a good ramen

I’ll wait for the Heavy version.

I hear you both. This is a very new range with additions coming soon so watch this space!

I’ve heard it through the grapevine that there may be some high protein hot meals on the horizon, which I think would be a great addition to the range, so maybe that in a ramen would be good.

Anyway it was the grapevine so may be fake news anyway.

These are what I meant. Available in Tesco as previously alluded to. From the end of next week. Quite like the idea of these.

Could be fake…

Oh this little thing, never seen that in my life…

I left Huel awhile ago as the hot prices kept climbing up and up, so I’m late to the party but blown away by your Diet and now Hot and Lite offerings. I don’t think people I’ve read on the forum have grasped what you’re doing. Just wanted to say as people are being really negative

Will it also be available in rice versions? I am a huge fan of the rice variants of Hot & Savoury (I did like the old version much better, but I like the new packaging more) but it has not enough protein for me, so I don’t eat it a lot. So a Black version (with rice) would be a gamechanger for me. It needs to be available in Germany though.

Love this, thank you so much for the love and great to have you back!

No rice option right now!

It’s an interesting concept and an Idea i’ll pass on for sure

Any singles going to make available to try? Would try chicken.

Not right now but singles will be coming in a few weeks! I’ll make sure I update you all when it drops.

Aw I am gutted that the pots have gone. Are all the Ramens going to be spicy then because if so, I will have to look at another company which I would prefer not to do. I wish I had known that the pots were being discontinued and I would have bulk bought… the hoisin noodles, korean bbq…

So yes, if you can let me know whether all these ramens are going to be hot and spicy, that would be great. As I am in the EU I am going to have to wait anyway.

OK, here is my review of the Huel light ramen, sweet chilli flavour.

Unfortunately, I didn’t really like this at all.

As @vsc said in another thread, the noodles took way longer than 5 minutes to cook. I mean I prepped mine in my thermos food flask to keep the temperature up and it took more like 15 minutes; the noodles themselves tasted like cardboard and the texture was akin to wet paper too. I see they are konjac noodles (to keep the calories down I guess).

And as VSC said, the sachet was very fiddly to open and not easy to extract the contents, which was a very thick sauce. The thick sauce was very tasty as i tried a bit that was stuck to the sachet.

Taste wise the meal was more bland than Dave Bland (drummer of Full of Hell and drummer/vocalist of Jarhead Fertilizer (correct American spelling here as they are from the US @Mark_Huel take note), so the sachet doesn’t have enough sauce to flavour it.

I added a bit of salt (I never add salt to any meals apart from chips) and also had to add some more sweet chilli sauce and black pepper, which livened it up a bit.

On the plus side, the meal did feel me up, I had it nearly a couple of hours ago and it’s still keeping me sustained, so in that respect it’s good for a lo calorie meal. I wouldn’t buy it again.

To be honest, I expect this to be my least favourite of the 5 ramen pots (which is why I tried it first) and I hope it is, but will feedback more as I they the others.
