I’ll let you know Mark. Unfortunately I have had to take a few days off work and they are in my office. It’s been tough but my two beautiful boys have been taken away from me and euthanised and it’s killing me. Born on the same day, died on the same day, and bizarrely for two different reasons. If you aren’t a cat lover I apologise, but these two were the best.
Here they are in the photos. First photos the week they entered my life, last photos this week.
I must say, after trying every variety Tesco had to offer, these are the most let down I’ve been by a Huel product. The ramen noodles themselves don’t capture any flavour, so they just come off as bland, flavourless “things”, and the broth flavours themselves come off as particularly weak. The only distinctive flavours I can actually recall are the dried vegetables.
I can’t imagine these doing particularly well; the broth’s flavours seem too weak and the noodles seem eehhhh. For the big product push into supermarkets, at least regular hot and savoury had big, big flavours. Anyone trying these on a whim in a supermarket will be majorly disappointed by how weak the flavour profiles seems to come off, especially with the price of them.
Yes its been so sad, they were both euthanised at home as I wanted them to feel safe and stress free, and today we’ve picked up their ashes from the crematorium. Such characters and the black and white one in particular was a shock as we had no idea he was ill. The grey and white had been ill for quite a few years so we knew his days were numbered.
I actually thought the lite chicken one was very tasty, and I’m quite fussy here.
I’ve no idea how the process of getting stocked in supermarkets works but I would assume the buyers would maybe try the products first. I agree about the Thai one though. Not tried the black ones yet.
Right back in the office today, albeit not feeling like working. I’ve recently (an hour ago) tried the katsu curry black noodles.
Weird that it didn’t look much in the pot before I added water, seemed barely more than the lite noodles, yet once hydrated it was a decent size full meal.
I expected it to be mild and It was and I generally prefer spicy, but it was nevertheless quite tasty with plenty of carrot and spring onion pieces. The sauce was quite aromatic and definitely captured the authentic katsu flavour profile.
Another winner here in my eyes (and mouth) @Mark_Huel so will be buying this one again.
I tried the Black Edition Katsu Curry and Spicy Korean this week. They’re quite tasty and definitely filling, just wish there was a bit more flavour to them. I really like the little textured pieces. Will be buying more of them though as they’re convenient and provide a good amount of protein
