Shhh, coming soon…light on the calories, heavy on the nutrition!

Just when you thought we’d done enough, we’re dropping something new!

Introducing Huel Lite! 190 calories, 25g of protein, and fully stacked with the good stuff. This is light on the calories, heavy on the nutrition.

On Monday 6th we are adding the newest addition to our collection of Ready to Drink products in the UK. Read on to find out how you can get early access!

Sometimes breakfast doesn’t quite happen, or you just need a little lift to carry you through the day. That’s where this comes in. Whether it’s a quick grab before heading out, a midday top-up, or a bit of pick-me-up after a workout, it’s there when you need it, simple, tasty, and reliable.

We’ve looked into the reason why some people don’t choose our Ready-to-drink currently. Something that comes up again and again is that it’s too high in calories. Well, we’ve listened! It’s made for anyone, but especially those Hueligans who find our current RTD a bit heavy and want a lighter option that still delivers on taste and nutrition.

Coming in 3 delicious flavours

  • Chocolate :chocolate_bar:
  • Banana
  • Strawberry :strawberry:

Each bottle is packed with

  • Just 190 kcal :glowing_star:
  • 25g Protein :flexed_biceps:
  • 6g Fibre :flexed_biceps:

Just saw the email.

More like a ready to drink protein really then,

Got to say I find the rationale a little bit odd - “the reason people give that they don’t drink huel…” Can understand if you said you want to provide a post gym protein product. RTD is a meal not a protein drink and the calories are too high for most people to use after a workout
Anyway, it’s a Stevia thing so I’m happy to give it a try maybe it will actually make a satisfying lunch having one of these and an RTD. I find 400 cal is just too little. However, I’m slightly concerned about the quantity of protein in a short amount of time if I have one of each….

“UK only for the time being”

Guess I have to watch this space for quite some time. Sounds awesome though.

Ordered :package: Excited to try them. The bottle design looks pretty stunning from what I could gather from the small image in my account section. The image in this thread doesn’t do them justice by only showing the old top part!

@Mark_Huel Are these bottles using the new bottle structure too? I noticed some RTD flavours in my last order had a much stronger bottle form with a new cap and foil part in the cap. It’s a LOT better than before.

I also kept having an issue over the past few months with RTD for the first time in years of ordering, where the RTD would have little clumps/bits/flakes that taste horrible. Customer service stated it’s due to transport where the bottle gets cold and hardens, so flakes come off inside? Not sure if there was a recipe change, whatever the cause, it was really putting me off RTD and making me gag, despite it being my favourite Huel product for half a decade, but the new bottle structure is fantastic and seems to have solved it.

New bottle feels proper robust and premium quality. Nice work to the team behind it!

Not to spoil the surprise, but looks like they’ve been indexed by search engines already!

These look great and I’m looking forward to trying one as a mid morning snack. I’m a little concerned about them being sold as “breakfast” though as 190 calories really isn’t a meal.

Ohhh I can’t wait!! Will have to though because I don’t live in the UK :joy::joy::joy:

As a tiny 55kg girl I certainly cannot finish 400 calories for breakfast so this would be a great solution for me.

For others it could also be post workout meal. I don’t think Huel products need a specific label as breakfast or dinner.. Most Hueligans are food experts themselves and have their own designed schedules.

So it’s the same volume of liquid but with reduced calories and nutrition for the same bargain price as normal RTD.

I would have seen it as better value if it was a smaller bottle say 330ml or 250ml and those nutritional and calorific profiles but say maximum 70% of the price. Now it just seems to be an expensive con in pretty packaging at a time when many are feeling the pinch…the Emperor’s new clothes are made of gold and diamonds.

If it was a smaller serving size but the same nutrients as a regular RTD it would make more sense to myle as a consumer. As it is, you must be consuming the same volume of liquid and a load of thickeners or to me it sounds like would be really insipid.

A Huel bar which is also a snack and similar calories is far cheaper.

What I am dreaming of, is an innovative company to come along and invent something like a powdered meal shake which when you want to consume 400 calories you simply add 2 scoops to water, or if you want 200 calories you can add 1 scoop. And maybe if you need 600 calories you can have 3 scoops. Hopefully one day that will be a reality.

Still I expect some people will buy it.

To be honest, I haven’t read the full ingredient and nutritional profile as I’ve been dealing with a flood as the result of Storm Amy. Fortunately not a flood in my own house.

£41 for 12 x RTD Chocolate Black and £39 for 12 x RTD Chocolate Lite with less than half the calories. This is madness.

What a ridiculous idea…you’ll be expecting people to mix it up themselves next.

I want to try this out, but I can´t select these when I’m editing my subscription. Is it just me?

They’re live on the website now, so you should be able to add them.

If you’re still struggling then pop an email over to team@huel.com and they can take a look at your account for you.

It’s not as simple as just breaking down the cost by the amount of calories.

We know that people want something that is more of a light meal that still hits that nutrition content, and 400kcal is too much for them. It’s been a tricky product to get right and get that much protein into a lower calorie option, it’s not a case of less calories = cheaper.

I just started a chat on the website and they added them for me in no time

I have a question though. I have read somewhere that 3 takes of 400 calories is meant to give you all you need in terms of nutrients. After that you can eat whatever.

With this new product, do I get the same in terms of nutrients, or should I down at least 6 of them?

If you have to down at least 6 of them you are kinda missing their point of them. At least that’s my take on that. Certainly from protein pov you will be consuming too much.

It just sounds strange to me, sort of magic. Let’s say I’m trying to lose weight, they say not to go crazy with it, right? Like 1200 calories a day is just not enough and you’ll be missing nutrients and it’ll be bad for your health.
It’s hard to believe that Huel has come up with a magic recipe that allows me to stay healthy with only 1200 calories a day.

So. Just got mine. Sadly it is a no from me. Tried the Banana flavour and it tastes of plastic and chemicals. I drank about half the bottle and rest went down the sink…this has put me off trying the other two flavours, so I will be dropping the remaing 11 bottles in the Sainsbury’s food bank collection point tomorro! So I will continue with the black ready to drink as that works for me and I have at least 1 of those a day.

Just received my case and not a fan of these.

I knew going in they would be different than the usual RTD bottles but they are soooo watered down. They taste as if I’ve made a Huel shake but with one scoop in 500ml of water.

Not keen on the after taste either, they gave me cotton mouth and have me reaching for something else to rinse with.

Not sure where I’d use these. After a work out would leave me feeling more thirsty, so that’s a no. For breakfast I’m left not feeling I’ve had enough hunger suppression. I had one for breakfast this morning and my stomach is asking where the rest is.

The after taste and mouth feel won’t have me reaching for these during the day.

if you’re a regular RTD drinker, you won’t enjoy these and the price is crazy for what it is.

Just tried one from the supermarket. Interesting product. It tastes good to me. I feel quite full so the protein is doing its job.

I think I might “eat” them from time to time. I’ll see if I develope a routine of using them, but I’m not sure yet. I suppose I do wonder why you wouldn’t call it huel protein plus or something - light meal is an odd descriptor. The macros are all about the protein so I think if you’re trying to compete with other protein drinks for post gym, it could be clearer that you’re in the same market with this.

Anyway, I liked it and it may be a good afternoon snack or similar. Or even to Top Up at lunchtime. It is quite a lot of liquid though, especially if you have another RTD.

I picked up one of each flavour at Sainsburys and tried the first one (chocolate) this morning

yeah its a nice and simple designed shrink wrap.

any banana drink tastes like that to me even the v1 RTD but to be fair - the lite chocolate one tasted fine for me and thankfully no bitter Stevia after taste.

yup they are very thin - if I had to compare id say its the consistency of flavoured skimmed milk. when you finish the bottle theres no residue either, with the other thicker RTD’s they are so thick when chilled they almost coat the inside of the bottle.

I’d agree with that but im guessing the fullness is also down to the volume of liquid as that sensation vanished as soon as I peed it away a few hours later.

yeah thats how I see it too - like a lite breakfast on the go.

I liked the chocolate taste but get where you are coming from with the cotton mouth feel. I definitely got a sense of that.

Overall - it’s fine as a standalone product. I’d definitely like it to have a slightly thicker consistency so it doesn’t feel like you’re drinking flavoured water but I would buy again.
