New Slightly Less Sweet Version

I might just just be way off reading your review, but it sounds to me that you are describing the unsweetened version. If so, please note that this post is for the slightly less sweet (so still sweetened and flavoured) version of Huel, so not he unsweetened/unflavoured version.

Hello zoltan,

My feedback is for the new, slightly less sweet, vanilla version of Huel, but I can see where confuse could arise, as I make reference to the ā€œearthinessā€ of the unflavoured-and-unsweetened Huel several times. I do so because I can still detect that earthiness in the vanilla Huel, mainly as an aftertaste.

As time goes on, I am really liking the slightly less sweet version more and more.

@marcus me too, I’m sure it was the right move.

Wow. I decided to try and make my vanilla-flavoured 1.1 Huel thicker by blending it with less water–560mL for 112g of Huel, as opposed to the roughly 600mL I was using before–and what a difference in taste!! I really love it now! No unpleasant aftertaste, and it tastes much sweeter; I didn’t even have to use any coffee flavourings, as I did with 1.0. It didn’t dawn on me before that dilution would have such an impact on taste. I still have some unsweetened-and-unflavoured I need to use up, so I shall have to try much less water with that version too.

I’ve had two 99g portions from my first lot of v1.1, and I’ve got to say I’ve found v1.1 sweeter than v1, and thinner. When I have more in the morning I will be adding less water to try and have the creaminess and texture I prefer from v1. However, unfortunately I think this will make it taste even sweeter.

Incidentally, even bread tastes sweet to me now, probably due to me overwhelmingly reducing the amount of junk and sugar I consume. That is good and bad.
