Single dad here, Huelā€™s been massive for me since I started ordering it back in 2015 (mostly around a time and budgetting factor for my own nutrition, not my kids obviously lol).

Butā€¦ before I write a wall of text Iā€™ll ask the obvious question  Whatā€™s in it for us?

Iā€™m up to my neck in bollocks, flaps and fanny most days. But you probably wouldnā€™t be interested in that.

I donā€™t have a great deal to add, but you could add this if you wished but Iā€™m sure itā€™s been covered off many times before, but I used to be really into long distance swimming, like 4km+ at a time. Not elite level obviously, but well above the average swimmer. I had some of my best swims when eating mainly Huel products and it is an excellent pre-training meal as ~400kcal digests (at least enough to do that style of swimming on) in 45-60 minutes.

I mean now that would be telling!

Basically our product team are looking through all feedback and if we feature your story weā€™ll be sure to look after you

oh wow, itā€™s so multi faceted for meā€¦

#1: not eating junk, skipping bad decisions.
Having Huel for Breakfast and Dinner replaced my morning sugary pastry with sugary yogurt for breakfast and also sawed off hundreds of calories from my diet by not buying sausage, cheese, ham, bread, etc, all for dinner. Now what I have is a healthy breakfast (white), a healthy dinner (black) and something in between which is also more and more healthy. I couldnā€™t get away from the thought of ā€œwell if 2 of your 3 meals is good, you shouldnā€™t eat junk for the third eitherā€, so there we go, prepped meals or eating out but healthy.

#2: sports
originally I hit the gym a few times per week, but since then, I became an indoor cycling instructor, plus doing cross training a few times per week also. Fixing my nutrition fixed my performance also, plus gave me extra motivation too. I picked up running during COVID and now preparing for my second half marathon (and 5k and 10k the day before) at Disney World Marathon Weekend in 2025.

long story short, just a thank you.

So Huel has been really effective for you! Glad to hear it

Also this seems interesting, do you run through all the parks? If this is the case, could imagine Blizzard beach being quite tough and wet

haha, no usually itā€™s EPCOT, Magic Kingdom and HS  and a lot of highways.

Jheeze that is a challenge and a half! Youā€™ll smash it

Huel has completely changed my life, so much so that I donā€™t know how Iā€™d go back if Huel were to close shop, a scary thought! Hereā€™s my storyā€¦(not great with words, hope itā€™s ok)

Being closer to 40 than Iā€™d like, for my entire life Iā€™ve been on an extremely restricted diet, but not by choice.
Likely due to being autistic (only finding out just recently, also life changing) I have very severe sensory issues with texture, taste, smell and sight, amongst other things. This has resulted in me eating little more than chips, chicken nuggets, bread and butter, and similar items, as well as some snacks, for all these years.
Of course, with such a diet, this hasnā€™t been good for my health and I have had a number of issues arising from the poor nutrition.

Additionally, I became ill with CFS/ME (chronic fatigue syndrome) in my early 20s and have been progressively getting more ill. I am at the point of struggling to prepare even the most basic of food, such as air frying those frozen beige items. So I ate even more poorly or ordered more take outs (McDonaldā€™s) because I did not have the energy.

Discovering Huel on an autism educational YouTube channel led me to trying it and now my entire diet revolves around it. Whilst I continue to have my Cheerios for breakfast, I now have an RTD at least once, if note twice, for my lunch and/or tea. I also have 1 or 2 bars for snacks in between, and the vitamin drinks too.

The result is that:
Iā€™m now meeting all my macro and micro nutrient goals, vitamins, minerals etc.
I donā€™t have to worry about having the energy to prepare or cook food. Open fridge, grab, done.
I no longer have to think about stock levels of foods as much.
My stomach and bowels are leagues happier.
I am at peace with my diet knowing I am getting what I need.
I can take proper meals with me wherever I go, either as replacements or in emergency if I canā€™t find food to eat due to my restrictions. Anxiety way down for travel now, and no more starving because I canā€™t find ā€œsafeā€ food.

Also, given that my family are like neurodivergent too, and my friends are too, unsurprisingly they have all converted to Huel for some of their meals too! Itā€™s been a complete success. I feel like Huel could help so many people in the world struggling with the challenging of getting a balanced diet and their nutrition.

Sorry if itā€™s too long, feel free to edit etc. thereā€™s more I could say even beyond this, as itā€™s been one of the biggest positive impacts of my life and Iā€™m just so excited to share how much itā€™s helped me. Please donā€™t ever stop the Berry RTD!

Iā€™ve always had an unhealthy relationship with food, next to no portion control, binge eating and rarely touching anything healthy.

In 2019 I got diagnosed with IBD, first thought to be Crohnā€™s Disease, now know its Ulcerative Colitis. Cut a long story short I wasnā€™t doing well at all, loads of medication was failing, diets not working and it got to the point where surgery was my only option. January 2023 I had the surgery to remove my large bowel and an ileostomy formed.

Now as you can imagine I already had all sorts of anxiety with my bowel problems/IBD and having an ileostomy initially added to that, and I didnt even know where to begin with diet. I again tried all sorts of diets, introducing various foods slowly following the surgery and everything left me extremely bloated, uncomfortable and caused high output with my stoma, this caused issues with dehydration, weight etc. A friend of myn had been on huel for a few years so I spoke with them about it and soon signed up to give it a go.

I admit, the white powder wasnā€™t for me, I think it was the sucralose, but the black edition was a game changer.

My stoma has now settled down, I have next to no bloating, my weight issues are rectifying themselves and Iā€™m now in the process of trimming down abit and looking to put on some muscle, all while getting the calories, nutrients, vitamins, minerals etc that my body needs. I was skeptical at first but its really working and Iā€™m glad Iā€™ve found a diet that works for me, and most importantly I feel full and satisfied after a shake.

I currently have a shake for breakfast and lunch and ā€˜normalā€™ food in the evening, with a few light fruit based snacks inbetween, I think huel has helped me find the right balance for my new normal living with a stoma, aswell as all the usual up and downs that come with life. My go toā€™s currently are Chocolate and Strawberries and Cream.

I had a stint on those ensure shakes before my surgery as I couldnt handle any solid foods whatsoever, if huel could find its way into the NHS for certain patients I think it would be far healthier and beneficial than the ensure stuff.

Thats a snippet of my story so far with huel, if you want to know more and/or think I would be suitable for this campaign Iā€™d be interested to get involved!

Thanks

Wow, what a whirlwind and what a story!

Firstly, I am beyond happy that youā€™ve found us and weā€™ve found you. Iā€™m glad weā€™ve been able to support you for this long and to get you to a good place with your diet

This is a really super interesting topic, do you happen to know what that channel is called?

Strawberries and cream is an amazing choice also might I say

Strawberries and cream happens to be the only other flavour I enjoy (because of me, not bad flavours!) so good intuition! i always have Berry as my first RTD each day because I prefer it and then in most cases I have another RTD later which will be strawberry.

I would say about 80% of my calories each day comes from Huel now :astonished: which isnā€™t necessarily recommended by you guys but when compared to the alternative for me (carbs and almost no vitamins), it makes sense

Also, I am due to have a surgical tooth extraction (complications) and this will mean I will likely have to go on soft or liquid food to avoid ending up with a dry socket (very bad). In past extractions this meant pretty much just eating yoghurt and ice cream for days on end because Iā€™m unable to eat things like soup or any hot liquid food. Now I will be able to drink Huel whilst I recover, causing no change to my diet or eating ungodly amounts of sugary crap! Yay!

Here is the channel, and video itself that made me aware of Huel: https://youtu.be/AuwTNkYoUIs
