RTD "skin"

I have recently started using the Huel Black RTD. I shake well before drinking, but there are always small amounts of what I can only describe as skin (like what you get on custard / rice pudding etc). Its often around the bottle rim as well. It’s not particularly pleasant (but in no way a deal breaker). I store bottles in larder, and keep a box at a time in the fridge.I usually drink straight from the fridge. In UK, ordered direct from Huel.

Is there a better way to store them, or is a small amount of skin always to be expected?

They have noted in the past that RTD can become very gelatinous when stored in very cold temperatures and advised it be refrigerated no more than a week before you drink it. I usually keep my bottles in the drawer at the bottom of the fridge away from the cooling elements and haven’t had any repeats of this happening since I started doing that.

At times, during transportation, the content of the bottle can get shaken around. This results in a thin film of liquid forming in the inner walls of the bottle. I find that It doesn’t happen that often but if you are opening a case and every bottle has this issue please reach out to us so we can look into this for you right away!

If you email us at team@huel.com we’ll happily take care of you and make sure there isn’t an issue with the batch
