Signing in with twitter

Found myself trying to log in, and forgot my password. So I hit the button to sign in with twitter.

Authorize Huel to use your account?

This application will be able to:

  • Read Tweets from your timeline.
  • See who you follow, and follow new people.
  • Update your profile.
  • Post Tweets for you.
  • Access your direct messages.

Will not be able to:

  • See your Twitter password.

Suffice to say, this is unacceptable. I’ve used twitter to sign into other applications (including other discourse forums), and never has the company granted itself permission to update my profile, post tweets for me, and access DMs.

Would it behoove Huel to change their permissions?

@Ric we have certainly not specified those setting, they must be discourse’s by default.

In case anyone misses it, I believe Julian accidentally posted the resolution here: First Experience Whilst On Stoptober

well spotted @Omc

Here is my post…

I’ve found the settings they are within twitter and are set to “read, write, and access direct messages” by default. I’ve change this to “read only”. I agree this is unacceptable to set to read direct messages as default, naughty twitter.
