Tried Huel for the first time today, mixed opinions

Hi all, I just hopped on to talk about my first experience using Huel today…
I tried the Coffee flavour and the Vanilla flavour (still have an unopened banana flavour that I may try tomorrow) I loved the way it filled me up and by lunchtime, I was still pretty full (but proceeded to drink more since I couldn’t wait to try the vanilla flavour haha)
I was wondering if anyone had any tips to make the shakes taste better since I struggled to enjoy them today; The coffee flavour I had for breakfast and could barely taste anything other than grains and for lunch, I had the vanilla flavour which kind of tasted like a sweeter version of the former. Undefeated, I added some cinnamon and cocoa powder and it seemed to taste slightly better.
Has anyone got any tips for a first-timer to make the shakes taste better and would you recommend me trying the banana flavour tomorrow?
Many thanks

Making it in advance and letting it sit in the fridge for 4 hours or overnight, improves the taste immensely.
Personally I like to add cacao powder to all my Huel!
Adding instant coffee powder also works well.
And as you discovered - cinnamon.

Some people find adding a small amount of milk (plant or dairy) changes / improves the taste - it’s worth trying.

Also, get yourself a box of flavour boost samples if you feel you need a stronger flavour or some variety.

Also - have a good browse through the forum - you will find literally thousands of suggestions :slightly_smiling_face:

I was debating ordering some when I purchased my huel but i didn’t in the end :frowning: I might order some now and just deal with the £3 p&p lol

Well… if you have to pay postage, you might as well get yourself a couple of boxes of the samples! Then you have plenty to experiment with in different powders.
I think as a new customer you can get half price flavour boost samples (?) ie £1.50 instead of £3. There’s a pop up window telling you to sign up to emails and I think that gives you half price flavour boost samples.
I’m not sure exactly how it works !

Just went all out and brought 5 packs of the 10 samples for free delivery haha! Sadly, I think the 1.50 deal is with the first order only but not to worry, I got a good deal on my huel packets anyway so I am still getting my money’s worth. Thanks for your help, Christina!

I hope you find some flavours you like!
I’ve not tried them all yet but so far love pumpkin spice and apple cinnamon :yum:

to ease yourself into it you might also want to consider adding some frozen fruits - this improves the flavour and the ice also binds and makes the ingredients smoother in the blender. I used to do that a lot but over time have weened myself off of it to dry flavourings such as powdered peanut butter (PB2), unsweetened cocoa or cacao powder, instant espresso powder, various fruit powders such as açai, dragon and prune. lately also moved onto flavour boosts - some I like and some I dont.
