Broken blender!

The only issue with that one is i would be paying more than the Tefal and not getting a jug, the jug is the main selling point for me so that i can make at least 2 shakes at a time, hahah

It very much upsets me that i cant buy one of their cheaper models and a separate jug and the cheapest option they offer WITH a jug needs to be bought with all the accessories D:

My mix ration is usually 500ml water or milk to 4 old scoops of powder. To this I add frozen fruit, ice cubes or a banana. My blender manages no differently from my £50 one. The week point on both is the plastic locking system on the blender jug.

My mix tends to be about 750ml of water, and 8 old scoops of powder, then a bunch of ice, i dont really measure how much ice i have, i like my shakes super think, hahah.

This will be changing to ten scoops once i run out of bars, which will be very soon D:

I think the limitation with blending isn’t the thickness of the powder or the ice cubes. The limitation tends to be the volume that the jug contains.

I think they can both be limitations. Some cheaper ones really struggle with ice cubes and thick viscous liquid like a thick Huel.

The Rolls Royce/Bentleys of blenders are the famous Blendtec and Vitamix…both £250+. I wanted a powerful blender of this type and found the Enpee which is similar on spec but closer to £100. The principal feature of all of these is power - 1500w motor or more.

Of course, for huel this is like using a slegehammer to crack a nut. However, it makes light work of ice, nuts and the like.

That looks to be a very good product for the price.

Oof, you’ve swayed me i think, i was going for the tefal one since it is one sale at £70, but they ex-demo unit at £90 might have me, i get paid wednesday so hopefully its still up, thanks for this

Change of plan for this one, they sold it, i’m having the worst luck, i get paid tomorrow and have found two cheaper versions and both have sold the day after i found them, typical xD

Im pretty sure they’re just rebadged Chinese OEM machines - so there are plenty of choices in that zone if you want one - like this - seems to have a good amount of verified purchase reviews.

Weirdly i looked at that exact blender the other day and did not make the connection, i tried looking up homgeek and didnt find much, but thanks for that, if its the ame machine without a fancy name on it that works better for me, i’m all about the chinese not-really-knock-offs-but-OGs hahah!

a quick search on alibaba shows that exact same ‘Enpee’ blender being offered wholesale by many different companies all with different names and spurious warranties - there was even one trying to pass it off as a Kenwood

I was going to take a look on aliexpress, the only downside is that, ofcourse, it takes about 3 months from aliexpress and comes with a healthy dose of kung flu, hahaha

Just go for the Tefal Perfect Mix 2L its 69.99 on Amazon

Thats the one i was looking at until the enpee was recommended, which i was going to go for at the £90 price, so now i MIGHT go for the homgeek one if its the same and more powerful than the Tefal, seems to come with a sturdier jug and a “sound dampening” lid too, but the more power means faster blends so sounds less of an issue… right? xD

go into a Starbucks or Coffee Bean and order a slutty Frappuccino - then try to ask how much it is over the din of the sound deadened blender

Honestly as the V3 powders are smoother now, the Tefal will despatch it with ease - I have a Tefal BL-962 Ultrablend (1300 watt) as well as the knackered Phillips one and it made the 2.3 powders as smooth as a (USA Spec) RTD. Noisy AF though.

Yeah i’m not expecting much from the sound dampener but every little helps right, i mean, its the equivalent of a screaming child and a screaming child with a sock in my ear or something? Metaphors!

I actually havent tried the V3 powders yet, i’ve had 2.3 and Black, i drink original, which doesnt exist in v3 :frowning:

Basically i’m working on the idea of gettign the best blender i can for under £100 so that when the summer roles around my mum can still use it for smoothies and milkshakes foro the kids etc, and maybe more, since i broke her old blender, hahah. I’d basically pay a bit more for more options down the line, but if the Tefal one can handle most things it’ll work for me

Okay, thanks to you bringing to my attention the whole name brand issue @Phil_C i have taken another look and i think i’m now set on this blender:

It comes with a 5% voucher knocking it down to 63.99

That or this one at 63.99:

I’m ordering in 6 hours so by then i’ll have made some form of choice, hahah

Just to let everyone know, i went with this blender:

Literally pulverises the ice, huel and water into the smoothest liquid going in a matter of seconds, cleaning is a BIT of a nightmare but i blame myself for stopping halfway throguh to add a flavour boost

I dropped a full beaker of Huel on the floor. I had stirred the meal on my ten year old Nutribullet. The screw top had got jammed and the only way I could open it was to bang it on the floor again. And it worked, although a full jug was spilled all over the floor. To my surprise, there was no damage to the jug. It screwed together perfectly and, after tipping the jug upside down, no leaks either.
