Chocolate Premixed Huel

Just tried choc prebend for the first time. Think it was even worse than I expected. Didn’t taste of chocolate at all. The only reason I drank it all, was that I was trying to improve the ahem “taste” by adding choc flavdrops, then more choc flavdrops, then orange flavdrops, then more choc flavdrops. A couple of swigs of each, and it was finished. Back to the drawing board on that one, I’m truly sorry to say.

I have really tried with the chocolate pre-blend but its really grim, wont be buying it again.

It’s a bit of a disaster, not sure how it passed the taste testers stage. Maybe it was conducted elsewhere.

@Wendy_Shepherd I hear adding Branston Pickle makes it nicer

You need to try it (and photo the evidence) @Ian42 before making these claims :laughing:

For everybody struggling with it: if you think of it as an alternative base to add your flavouring to, it’s really not so bad.
I add 2 tsp coffee and 2 tsp cacao to 2 scoops of chocolate and 1 scoop of vanilla/Original/UU. It’s actually ok.

@hunzas needs to try it with banana flavour boost and let us know the verdict

I think the point is that these comments don’t scream “desirable” and “nailed it” when people are trying to make it “OK” just to actually use the stuff :frowning:

Haha @GTIPuG  yeah you’re right
I feel that way about all the flavoured premixes though.
The only Huel I actually really enjoy is the UU - either ‘as is’ or with added coffee, or cacao or fruit or flavour boosts.
Oh an the V2 bars are great too (not tried v3 yet)

Yes, for me the whole point of a prebend is not needing to faff about adding other flavours to make it palatable. I’d rather buy the flavour boosts if I’m going to be making a concoction, at least that way I’m in control of the flavour strength.

They need to bring back Christmas pudding preblend. Still a classic…the taste of Jesus.

I thought Jesus tasted of crackers and red wine.

Perhaps jesus was a Huel preblend…they rarely taste like what they are meant to.

Like many I was definitely pleased to see the introduction of Chocolate powder however my excitement has been slightly dampened by people’s experiences so far with regards to the taste. I like the Mint-Chocolate so do people with experience of both generally like them both or is it an altogether different flavour? I just have my Mint-Chocolate without any other flavour.
I have decided I will get a bag on my next order to see for myself and hopefully I will enjoy it. After all it can’t be that bad!!

I love the mint-choc preblend, but not the chocolate.
Do you like the (new) Vanilla preblend?
The chocolate has a similar toffee-ish undertone.

I do like the new vanilla, maybe I’m just easily pleased!
Sounds like I’ll probably be in the minority and I’ll enjoy the chocolate. I will give it a go anyway.

I really like the mint chocolate, but the chocolate is a taste washout. To me it tastes of the memory of chocolate, not the experience of chocolate. Personally I would suggest not wasting your time and money trying it, but if you do, I’d love to hear the opinion of someone who considers themselves easily pleased. I’m definitely fussy.

I also love the mint pre blend but hate the chocolate. The mint pre blend tastes more like chocolate than the chocolate prebend.

I think the chocolate prebend is having an identity crisis it never quite tastes the same when I make it, it either tastes of coconut like noting or like dirt to me and a few people I have forced it upon!

I’ve still got half a bag of that left from 2017

I’ve just got to say that I’ve just tried my first chocolate Huel. I wasn’t expecting much as I read this thread prior to drinking/eating it but thought it tasted lovely. Pleasantly surprised and happy
