Hi All,
I need to use Huel at work. But there is no refrigerator close by. So i want to keep it at my desk and consume it over time.
How long can i use Huel after mixing at room temperature without loosing taste or developing side effects ?
/Thanks
Hi there! Take a look at this below:
How long does my Huel last?
Unopened, Huel has a 1 year expiry date
Opened, but sealed and kept in a cool dark place out of direct sunlight, Huel has a 6 month expiry
Mixed - Once blended we recommend you keep your Huel refrigerated and consume within 24 hours. This is a best before. For information about consuming Huel after 24 hours, see this thread where James Collier RNut has gone into more detail:
Hi all!
It’s my first day with Huel and I notice that a batch will last for 24hrs in the fridge. What happens after the 24hrs? Is that batch unusable? Is it safe, but only just?
Just curious.
Hope this helps!
Hi! I think you didn’t read the question properly.
The answer doesn’t help stating how long we can keep it out of the refrigerator
I would like an actual answer.
Sorry @shankysodhi , I really did read your question but sorry for not being more specific. The answer is in the thread I linked to, more specifically the answer James makes:
As it happens, I’ve been running this experiment this weekend. I mixed up some Huel on Saturday morning and I had some yesterday and some more today (Monday morning). It had seperated a little, but a short shake rectified that. Taste-wise there was no change that I noticed. This means, that 48 hours is fine.
In milk-protein based drinks - like whey protein - the protein denatures after 12-24 hours of being made up and is distgusting. This doesn’t happen so readily with plant-based proteins …
I hope this helps.
Also worth buying an insulated bottle - I use a Super Sparrow, but there are plenty of other options out there.
Keeps mine cool for as long as I have needed it.
