Huel bars review

Quite enjoying the bars so far. Definitely a sit down and have a drink with it, I also seem to eat it quite slowly and I do seem to remain full for a good bit after. I like the contrast to my normal huel shake.

Dunno, but I tried to sneak an air guitar in once and got thrown out.

I had a friend give the bars a try and he said that if they were cheaper he’d just eat them and nothing else. The cost is a good point- at Ā£1.71 each, their cheapest, that’s going to put a lot of people off.

I think you often get what you pay for, though. You know, a decent pub meal for Ā£10 or a bag of takeaway chips for Ā£1. One is a much cheaper meal then the other, but it’s not a fair comparison.

The milk and soya in the Twennybars puts me off.

How big are they ?

If compared ro another product, same size as a mars bar or ?

Huel bars are 69g and 250cals, and approx 110mm x 37mm x 13mm thick

Just tried them: Nutritionally superior to the twennybars but much drier also, not very consistent flavor-wise in between bites, an overall DIY feeling, expensive. The price puts me off.

I like the taste of the huel bars. Much better than the most protein bars. Only the price could be better.

Hello,

I’ve been Hueling for 1 year replacing most weekday breakfast and lunch, and have just tried my first Huel Bar, with a brew (As recommended on forums).

I’m not a body builder type so haven’t really tried anything of the sort before, so my comparison is against ā€˜breakfast bars’.

Contrary to what has been suggested in this thread, this is not a product you can push into Tesco and sit next to the breakfast bars. I would suggest it would deter people from the brand if it it was their first experience. Stick to powder first, and then value add with the bars.

I’m pleased to report the bar does it’s job, which is to give you an even more convenient Huel option for when you are on the road and it does it well. Sitting next to draw full of Huel Powder and Bars, I’m picking the powder first. It’s not tasty enough to encourage constant snaking, but pleasant enough to consume it.

For the bars I think this can be extended to taste and texture.

As a final note for anyone looking to purchase them. Mine arrived today with an expiry date of May 2017. So you might not want to ā€˜stock up’ the same as you can with the powder.

Just ate my free Huel Bar. I tried the powder last year but, after a few tries, just couldn’t come to enjoy its texture and taste.

The Bar, on the other hand, was delicious. Given Huel’s nutritional value, I’d settle for a merely passable taste - but this was very tasty indeed. A lovely texture too.

To reiterate what others have said, though, the big sticking-point for me is the price. The most I’d ever be willing to pay for any product like this is Ā£1.20 per item - and for as long as I’m a student, my maximum is closer to Ā£1.00 per item.

Congrats on making such a tasty product and I hope you manage to find a cheaper method of production without sacrificing too much on its quality.

Hello,

I’ve just cracked open my first bar from a new order. (Best before June)
And this one is much better, it’s softer and moister, it also has a smooth finish.

Was my first 5 just a bad batch?

Tim.

Amazingly good, perfectly complements my daily meals and is very practical. Excellent product.

Another Huel Bar lover here!! I HATE protein bars in general (I tasted few of them and they were horrible for me) and, to be fair, the only bars I’ve ever liked are Naked bars. I have to say, though, that I love the taste of Huel Bars as well as the texture! I love having them while sipping my morning hot almond milk. Yummy! Only problem is I have to eat them very slowly so I can start feeling full before finishing it, otherwise I would be craving more! I’m having one for breakfast and one for afternoon snack.

Spent all day travelling yesterday. Having a stash of Huel bars was so convenient and saved me a small fortune on buying food at airports/on the plane etc :+1:

Nice photograph. I hope you know to not leave the Huel bars in the sun for too long

I tried the Huel bars for the first time yesterday. I must say, I’m quite pleased. They are just lightly sweet and have a strong cocoa taste. The texture is pleasantly chewy, though dry enough that I need to have a drink along with it.

I find it such a drag that I try and make a weeks worth of huel at a time (I only have it for breakfast). Anything I’m not going to drink the next day goes in the freezer. Before I leave for work (I am a joyful commuter to Canary Wharf) I just grab and go …

I can’t imagine actually putting cereal into a bowl and adding milk to it. The workload would just be too much

About the wrapping of the bars, it doesn’t seem really sustainable. Would it be possible to find a more environment-friendly solution ?
