I bought a white banana yesterday from a petrol station and it fizzed when opening. Is that ok? I’ve never had that happen before.
It didn’t taste bad and it didn’t taste like what I remember banana to taste like although it’s been a very long time since I had banana so I might have forgotten or the may have “upgraded” the flavour
The only fizzing I’ve ever had from Huel is from powder shake left in a hot car for a day…didn’t drink it but doubt it would have been harmful.
Apart from the vitamin drinks, Huel isn’t meant to fizz.
Sorry to hear this!
Please email, team@huel.com, thank you.
I bought several chocolate RTD from Tesco’s all four bottles made a gasp of air when the lid was undone. Tasted fine.
Thanks for your input.
I’ve emailed Huel as suggested and I feel fine so I guess it was ok
The hissing sound is usually bubbles in the foam that’s formed when you’ve shaken the bottle, as they all pop at the same time when you open it – it sounds like hissing instead of popping. Protein powders contain surfactant molecules which stabilize the bubbles long enough to form a foam. Lecithin is also a surfactant and is probably the main thing stabilizing the foam. Thanks Google
Yes! I’m experiencing the exact same issue. I drink “classic” RTDs almost every day, either at the office or when I’m too lazy to prepare a powdered version. Since June, some batches I’ve received make a fizzing noise when opened, even without any prior shaking.
Even though the RTD tastes similar (or identical) to before, I’m now experiencing stomach issues when drinking them, which never happened previously. Initially, only the “Berry” RTD had this problem, but I’ve noticed it with the latest batch of banana RTDs I received this week as well.
It’s disappointing because I live in Denmark, and my choice of RTD flavors is already very limited (no RTD 2.0 or Black RTD). Now, my options are even more restricted.
I’m not an expert, but could this be related to the new lid design? Perhaps there are some issues at the factory that are causing some bottles to be improperly sealed?
