HUEL Shaker

I’ve been a loyal Huel customer for three years, and I really appreciate the product quality and variety of flavors. However, I’ve encountered an issue with the Huel Shaker that I’d like to address.

After using the shaker, I’ve noticed that powder tends to sediment inside the top cap and the inner lines of the head. This buildup can lead to bacterial formation and an unpleasant smell, even after washing the shaker and using hot water. The smell is particularly noticeable after the bottle is washed and hot water is added.

I believe this design flaw could pose a health risk to customers in the future. To improve the Huel Shaker, I suggest redesigning the inside to eliminate gaps and ensure a cleaner, more hygienic finish.

Do you have a dishwasher? That helps a ton, likely because of the more powerful detergent.

Also try to rinse your shaker with warm water immediately after finishing a shake. Not practical if you’re out and about, but do it as soon as you can.

Oh and third thing: if you can’t rinse right away, don’t let the contents dry out. Close the cap until you can wash it.

I have the same issue, residue beside inner lines of the top head and inside the edge of the cap. I don’t have a dishwasher but I do have a denture brush (tho’ I suppose a regular toothbrush would work just as well): I always rinse immediately after use but then once a week I give it proper close attention: warm soapy water and careful brushing under a good light. Never had a problem with smells, but it’s good to know it’s completely clean, at least some of the time…

Thank you for your attention. I am really happy with the bottle. I have been using the same one for three years. Even though I don’t have a dishwasher, I make sure to clean it thoroughly myself.

Same issue, everytime i open it its ransid and i clean thoroughly, i just wash out with hot water again and go been fine but it isnt ideal at all

I find that adding about 1/3 of your water, powder then the rest of the water stops this from happening. Not ideal and it works.
I’ve started to use a stick blender now which also helps alot

Appreciate you reaching out to us with your feedback!

Strangely its not something I’ve ever checked to see if there is residual powder there, but sorry this is a problem for you! I’ll pass on your feedback for future changes.

As for cleaning the shaker, I’ve always found if it smells leaving it soaking with washing up liquid in always seems to work the trick
