I signed up as a first time user to discuss the email I received regarding the changes. I didn’t know huel even had a forum prior to that.
I’m not sure why you are invalidating people’s opinions simply because their attention was brought to this forum by an email about a product they buy.
I don’t know how you got to the idea that people posting here hadn’t bought it when this page is linked to by an email sent to those who did in fact buy the product.
Cancelled my Subscription to Daily Greens. Disappointed in Huel for these actions taken. A pure cost effective exercise. Injoy your profits. I’ll be spreading the word. Don’t buy Daily Greens it’s an inferior product as of mid May.
The number one reason for the changes is to improve the texture and taste of Daily Greens and minimise excess sediment. The ingredients that have been reduced are relatively cheap ingredients, so the changes made little to no difference to the overall recipe cost.
I have just unsubscribed and went to AG1 due to the “improved changes”.
I mean, c’mon,…going from a 15g to 8.5g portion doesn’t seem like an improvement to me… your getting much less for for your money and Huel are obviously making more money from using less ingredients and basically bringing the portion size down to nearly half. If anyone can let me know which ingredients have increased and show me how I would not be getting less for money, I’m all ears…oh, and there was nothing wrong with the taste or texture…I’ve had much worse in the past and I found this very drinkable.
That’s interesting. I always thought spirulina was one of the most expensive ingredients in these greens. That has been reduced too although I note this reduction is somewhat buried in the blurb.
Reducing the amount of Spirulina is potentially quite a substantial change to the health profile of Daily Greens:
Spirulina, a type of blue-green algae, is considered a superfood due to its nutrient-dense profile. Here are some potential health benefits of consuming spirulina:
Rich in nutrients: Spirulina contains high levels of protein, vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B6, B9, C, D, E), minerals (potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium), and antioxidants.
Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties: Phycocyanin, a compound found in spirulina, has potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, which may help protect against oxidative damage and chronic inflammation.
May lower cholesterol: Some studies suggest that spirulina can help reduce total cholesterol, LDL (bad) cholesterol, and triglycerides while increasing HDL (good) cholesterol levels.
This is great info that should have been included in the email, probably would have made people understand that the change is not huge as I and most people I know have DG for the nutrients. Althought the reduction in spirulina is disappointing due the benefits of it.
Porridge oats increased by 35.5% across the al the supermarkets compared to a year ago.
Flaxseed prices have risen due to seasonal factors. Crops have not been large enough for significant stocks.
Inulin production and raw material cost up by 4% from January.
Tapioca- supply shortage and high demand due to popularity of Bubble Tea hence price increase.
The global natural Spirulina market is anticipated to rise at a considerable rate . Forecasted period between 2023-2030.
All is fact checked and evident this is a cost cutting procedure
Removing Omega 3 and Omega 6 and the added benefit of Spiriulina and Chlorella makes it an inferior product charged at at the same price. If this was a change to cater for certain people’s palate whoever they are. Why not make a separate product and call it Daily Greens Smoother with less calories
Worth noting here that the quantities of adaptogens, probiotics and antioxidant greens, fruit and botanicals have either remained the same or increased despite the smaller serving size.
No-one has discounted anyone. We’re all here and all counted.
Many are here for the very first time, and whilst it’s sad that it’s only to complain, nevertheless it’s nice that the forum is getting so many new members.
