Amazing, can’t wait to taste these! Are the ingredients almost entirely organic like the usual Daily Greens? That’s always been my biggest draw to Daily Greens, but there doesn’t seem to be any info about it on the website.

How does a portion of this compare to a portion (8-9g isn’t it?) of daily greens powder? I know I could dig this information up myself but this is what you are here for Mark :face_with_tongue:

Going to add one these to my next subscription, just not sure which flavour I will like best.

So kinda.

It isn’t a certified organic product.

We use some organic ingredients but the product it’s self is not organic!

I can answer any question you may have but if you want to check out the deets you can find them here - Daily Greens Ready-to-drink Nutrition Explained | Huel US

While Daily Greens powder and Daily Greens RTD are similar in that they provide essential vitamins and minerals, as well as superfood blends, they are different formulas. For example:

The Daily Greens RTD contains more fiber than the Daily Greens powder, but does not contain probiotics like the Daily Greens Powder. Daily Greens RTD uses more purees and juices rather than powder form of fruits and veg, as these work best for a liquid product.

Breaking it down further for you here are some further deets

First, the similarities:

- Both Daily Greens powder and Daily Greens cans are made using fruit, veg, botanicals and adaptogens, as well as a bespoke micronutrient blend.

  • They don’t contain a significant amount of macronutrients e.g. protein, carbs, fat.
  • No artificial sweeteners or colors

Differences:

- Daily Greens cans are more about the fruit and vegetable juices and fiber, with just one or two key adaptogens. Daily Greens Powder has a wider variety of adaptogens, as well as probiotics

  • There’s more fiber in the cans - 4g per serving derived from chicory root (a prebiotic)

Hope this makes sense and answers your question!

When is it going to be available in Europe? Very interested

Thanks. I would recommend including at least a quick bit about some ingredients being organic. That was the thing that drew me to Daily Greens in the first place!

I’ve tried each of the Daily Greens RTD flavours, and if I’m being totally honest, I am reeeeally not a fan and won’t be buying them unfortunately… I’ve had a Daily A-Z can pretty much every day since that product was released, I subscribe every month, and I enjoy each flavour, but I’ve always wanted it to be like Daily Greens instead as I prefer those ingredients, so I WISH I liked them.

The flavours are just horrible to me :grimacing:

  • Apple, Cucumber & Mint: The worst Daily Greens RTD and flavour of any drink Huel has made by far. It tastes horrible to the point of needing to pour it away as I couldn’t finish it. I think it’s the mint mostly that makes it taste so repulsive, even though I like mint.
  • Peach & Hibiscus: Definitely better than the above, I like the hint of peach, but it just doesn’t taste “nice” at all. The peach is lost amongst odd, not-nice tasting flavours, making me not want to take another sip.
  • Blueberry, Lemon & Thyme: This one’s the most doable. Again, I still wouldn’t say this is “nice” and wouldn’t choose to drink one over something else, but the hints of nice flavours are there, just drowned by other poorer ones.

So overall, sucks to say but personally I was really underwhelmed. The flavours are just very odd mixes in this form that don’t taste nice. I feel like the Peach one and Blueberry one could be tweaked to taste delicious and if so I’d be willing to try them again, as currently they feel like prototypes that need to break through the last major barriers. The Apple & Cucumber one needs either the mint removed or Jesus.

FWIW I poured each flavour into a few glasses so a group of us could try each one, and no-one liked any of them  My mother was planning to start getting these for work, but strongly disliked them all too, yet likes all the A-Z flavours.

My ranking of RTD cans, best to worst:

  • Cherry & Raspberry (!!!)
  • Strawberry & Watermelon (!!!)
  • Blue Raspberry (!!!)
  • Pineapple & Mango (!)
  • Blueberry, Lemon & Thyme
  • Peach & Hibiscus
  • Bowl of nails
  • Apple, Cucumber & Mint

TL;DR:

  • Every single morning, I am genuinely excited to crack open a Daily A-Z lol, and every drink of it gives me literal joy. They taste AMAZING. Seriously. I alternate between the top 3 daily. I’d rank the Pineapple one the lowest, yet I’d still enjoy it.
  • Compared to Daily Greens, there is no way I would ever be excited or remotely thrilled to drink one. Each Daily Greens RTD flavour makes my face do negative facial expressions, where I know that even though I wanted to start having these regularly, I’d be forcing it. They just taste horrid to me.
  • But tweak the Peach + Blueberry ones more and I’d give them another shot. I want to have Daily Greens RTD daily, but a significant step up in flavour quality and logic is needed IMO.

Hope that helps :folded_hands:

Watch this space!

It’s new so like anything, we need to give it a little time so watch this space.

Does bowl of nails flavour contain extra iron?

yep, and magnesium :face_with_tongue: Have you tried them yet John? Curious to hear what others think.

I haven’t tried them yet. I have a pack waiting for me at home but I am currently away until the weekend, but will definitely feed back here once I’ve tried them. Looking at the flavours I am expecting to rank them in the same way that you did as cucumber and mint is not something I normally enjoy drinking. The other two sound more to my liking, although the blueberry thyme one sounds like the best option but depends on how the flavour strengths are. Your top two are more interesting ideas.

Appreciate the Honesty @Hex, although a bowl full of nails wouldn’t make my top 10.

I just wanted to make it clear that this product stands alone from our usual cans, just wanted to make sure they were not getting mixed up.

Is it the concept or just the flavour the reason why you wouldn’t purchase them?

I’d be keen to hear the improvements you’d like to see made to them, are you a usual greens drinker?

No no nothing to do with the concept. I’ve answered every Huel survey for years asking for whole food organic products from Huel, and sometimes even import Superblend from the USA. If you made a Daily Greens-like powder meal, I’d spend way more monthly. I am the perfect audience for this, and would love one every day. The problem isn’t conceptual. It’s the really bad taste of the 3 flavours.

For comparison, I buy 3 packs of A-Z cans every month, across 3 flavours. The flavours of those are so well crafted. Again I’m excited every time I drink an A-Z, enjoying it thoroughly, and EVERY single person I give one to loves and asks about them. They’ve created subscriptions alone. Daily Greens RTD’s flavours simply taste horrible to me, and every person I had try one didn’t just not like it, but strongly disliked it and couldn’t finish it. The flavours taste like when you’re a kid and you’re mixing random drinks together to see what it tastes like. There is a hint of something nice there, but overpowered by strong weird flavours that don’t taste good and seem like they shouldn’t be there, resulting in something that feels like a weird sickly experiment.

I’ve tried to drink each Daily Greens RTD flavour multiple times, and just cannot stand them. My facial expression turns wretched on every sip. It feels nuts saying this about a Huel product, as flavour is usually crafted so brilliantly, but the Daily Greens RTD flavours are IMO the worst tasting Huel products I’ve ever had. That’s why I wouldn’t purchase them again or even accept them for free.

Regarding improvements, like I said before, if you tweaked the Peach one and Blueberry one more to significantly boost the pleasant flavours and neutralise or at least lessen the bad ones, I’d be willing to try them again. Or come out with a more pleasantly chosen and developed flavour. And yes I have greens smoothies (homemade and store bought) regularly, matcha green tea, hibiscus, kombucha, etc.

Out of curiosity @Mark_Huel, is the team behind the 3 Daily Greens RTD flavours the same team behind A-Z’s 4 flavours? Because the A-Z flavours are outstanding. Every day for 2 years I’ve had A-Zs yet I still look forward to it every morning. Every sip is like a piece of heaven haha. I get they’re different products, but the taste quality seems so dramatically different, like extreme polar opposites.

Wow, thought I’d check Reddit and seems I’m not alone:

  • “tried the peach hibiscus only so far… and could only take 2 sips. I wanted to love it, but something was so off?”
  • “I tried Apple Cucumber Mint and it was bad. Has wierd smell and after taste, barely was able to finish 3rd of it before dumping in the sink”
  • “blueberry was my two sips and dump in sink”
  • “love Huel generally but this is not for me. It’s like someone ground down Flinestones vitamins and mixed them up into carbonated water (there is no textures im just saying the taste and smell is a bit offputting”
  • “wasn’t bad. Not sure if I would buy it though”
  • “tried the peach and got through about 2/3rds of it before it got to be too much”
  • “a weird mix that I couldn’t get down with”

Only 1 person on that post liked them :grimacing: Sucks to see this reception but I hope Huel is taking it on board :folded_hands:

This is incredibly helpful @Hex!

Of course, we preach that taste is subjective, and if you’ve never had a greens product, its kinda hard to know what to expect, but it’s clear that you know what to expect, so I’m sorry that this wasn’t what you expected.

As a new product, we are eager to receive feedback to make adjustments and ensure this is the best it can be, so thank you!

In terms of teams, it all sits with our NPD team. It goes through the same lines of approvals that all our products do.

It’s interesting that Huel gave away so many trial packs before launch. It’s a great way to get feedback on the product at an early stage.

So true, and we’ve captured lots of feedback, a big % quite positive!

So I’ve received my trial pack. The first thought when seeing the packaging was “wow that seems excessive”. A big green box with three cans in, inside an even bigger box. Interestingly the cans in the green box had all come lose from their slots anyway and were rattling about inside the box.

Thought I’d try what I think will be the worst flavour first. The apple, mint and cucumber one. It’s an interesting taste for sure. All three flavours come to the fore in different sips, so initially I got a burst of mint. A few minutes later another sip and the cucumber comes through and as I worked my way through the tin (which I had decanted into a glass) sometimes the apple came to the fore. The overwhelming aftertaste is cucumber though, and half an hour after I’d finished it, I could still taste it. It’s also a bit too sweet for my liking.

The carbonation is good. It’s lightly not heavily carbonated.

It’s not as bad as @Hex portrayed it in my opinion because I drank it quite happily, but I wouldn’t rush to buy a box of them. Having said that, I probably wouldn’t rush to buy any drink with those three flavours combined.

I’ll feed back on the other two flavours in due course.

Hi John thanks for the review. I still have not tried any of the 3 cans yet. I’ve never tried any version of the greens so very reluctant after reading about them. I no everybody has different tastes so will eventually give them a go. Do I need to chill them first. Thanks
