Introducing... Huel Instant Meal Pots šŸŽ‰

Ever heard of glucose? :eyes:

Nope. Is it an emo band from San Diego?

Oh. I was waiting a witty comeback to my emo band quip.

Course I’ve heard of glucose. What’s your point?

Those carbs you eat, remember the convo earlier?

Guess what…they get converted into glucose. Its called gluconeogenesis (I think Phil Collins was in them before he got ill).

Problem?

Incomprehensible? It’s business. And apparently business> mission & sustainability

If part of the sustainability mission is to increase the number of people eating healthy vegan convenience foods, via online and especially via retail, I’d say these pots fit the bill.

It’s arguable that the business is the mission: healthy, sustainable, vegan, convenient and also popular.

A business can’t operate without a mission statement and a culture fit. Huel has a strong mission and a strong community who are committed to assisting Huel by investing in that mission. Business is business, ethics are ethics but we must not forget that sustainable and ethical business is not unattainable.

Does anyone here know some good publications showing that sugar is ā€œbadā€ - and in what respect? Sometimes it seems commonplace to believe that, but is there really a hard proof for it?

Keep on topic please. You’ve already been warned.

Fat people?

I haven’t brought up this topic here - others started the discussion about sugar, which seems to be part of most threads.

I’m waiting for one.

The second someone conflated ā€˜slavery’ with why sugar is bad, my eyes immediately did a 360 degrees roll into the back of my head and I was unable to read any further…

Sugar is necessary. Too much sugar (or too little) is the problem

Surely if your eyes did a 360 roll they would be at the front again and you would be able to read. Or at least look at pictures.

Nah mate. Two eyes, 180 degrees each, 360 total. I don’t know why you can’t figure that out, it’s simple maths a child could understand. You need more glucose in your diet.

I might need more glucose but at least I have plenty of sugar in my diet.

You can look at mbs’s ā€˜is sugar bad?’ question two ways:

If it’s just ā€˜is consuming sugar bad for my health?’ then historical considerations certainly are irrelevant.

But if it’s ā€˜is sugar a bad thing, in terms of the harms caused to human health and wellbeing, overall and throughout history up to and including the present day?’ then I’d say slavery is a major consideration; alongside addiction, obesity and tooth decay.

Of course if you’re freezing your bits off halfway up a mountain in a blizzard, a little bit of sugar might be a very good thing indeed. .

When I was a lad my mum bought me Lucozade when I was sick. But only when I was sick, otherwise it was cheapo Dandelion and Burdock from the pop man. Gotta be healthy stuff if it heals sick kids.

We used to have Corona…but look where that got us in 2020.

Citation needed that sugar consumption is necessary for life or to maintain good health.

Here, this should be easy enough for you to understand:

Sugar: the facts - NHS.

And it’s from one of the most respected health organisation bodies / providers in the world!

Where on that page does it say dietary sugar is necessary?

(to save you looking, the answer is nowhere)
