It really does depend how think you make it. One really simple solution for anyone who thinks its either too sweet or not sweet enough is to make it thicker or more diluted to get the level of sweetness that you want.
Yes Macus is spot on if you add more water the flavour and sweetness will be reduced and vice a versa.
Just rightā¦
Itās just right.
Get it down you and itās done, perfectly palatable and no after-taste whatsoever which is distinctly pleasant.
Itās just right. Sometimes itās a little sweet such as dinner time, I add some coffee espresso and it tastes delicious.
I think itās just about right.
Just right, I would say a very tiny touch too sweet but Iām guessing it masks some of the less desirable flavours. A good balance as it is I think.
Itās too sweet.
You can work around it by using more water and other bitter flavors, but it would be much easier for people to make it sweeter if they prefer by dropping some stevia into it.
I already said itās just right as is, for me anyways.
But today I fancied something a little bit sweeter than usual - I threw in a bit of all-natural honey with my regular tablespoon of medium-roast coffeeā¦ my god, it was amazing.
Itās just right for me - the gentle sweetness of the vanilla flavour taste a bit like overnight oats / cold porridge, and is easily mixed up with a smattering of cinnamon, honey, stevia or something similar - especially when made with unsweetened almond milk or semi-skimmed cows milk.
Overall itās fine, and certainly shouldnāt be any less sweet.
I would prefer it if it was a little sweeter and closer to v1.0, but Iāve gotten used to 1.2 now and its fine. Any less sweet though and I would have to move to something else, as it would just go too far in that direction. Anyone who would like it less sweet has the option of mixing in some unflavoured with the vanilla and getting the balance that suits them, harder for us who would like it sweeter to do that unless we go with non-huel products like extra sweetener or sugar (or unless a vanilla flavour pouch is released).
k
I just got my first order 1-2 weeks ago and find it just right, I really wouldnāt want it more or less sweet.
That said I do have a really sweet tooth
EDIT: Just checked, Iām on v1.2 if that helps
Just right! Please donāt reduce the sweetness!
Started using it yesterday, just on spot for me.
Great stuff everyone, thank you for your comments and valuable opinions. Some of you mentioning about it being too sweet, there are a couple of options for that mentioned here or in another thread:
-
Add a larger amount of water to your Huel, this will reduce the vanilla and sweetness.
-
We offer an Unflavoured & Unsweetened version of Huel, with this you can add your own level of sweetness and other flavours. Here are some ideas - How do you flavour your Huel?
Keep the comments coming!
Much too sweet for me. I shall be mixing it 50/50 with the unflavoured from now on.
It is quite sweet, but I personally like that. Maybe gets a little sickly with the flavour pouches (I have the rhubarb & custard and toffee flavours), so may switch to unflavoured for my next order.
Weāve been using it 4 days. I find it a little too sweet (80gms to 400 water as thatās what fits in Blend Active blender) and more so when I add Micha or Rhubarb and Custard.
Will order unsweetened next before I run out and try 50/50 mix but itās already quite a messy and time consuming process making up next days 4 batches with 2 flavours lol.
Overall happy though.
Just right for me. I donāt flavour the vanilla with anything else, just use it as it arrives.
Just right
My wife says its too sweet.
I could cope with slightly less sweet as it is now, but I do like Huel just as it is.
