By the way, the switch version of The Witcher 3 is epic.
Ring fit has kept me engaged since Christmas especially after my gym shut. Once you get a few worlds in and collect different exercises it gets more customisable.
It also has the option of doing mini games or sets separate from the main game so a fair bit of choice.
Sorry you’ve not been having a great time, @David. I know several people who have really been struggling mentally during lockdown. After years of trying I managed to sell my crappy, noisy, stinking-of-neighbours’-cigarettes flat and move into a house three weeks before it all kicked off. If I’d been stuck there it would have been a very different experience. As it stands I’ve barely seen anyone for three months as I live alone, but at least I have a garden now.
I hope you feel better soon and can get some fresh air etc.
Not many people are aware of this, but almost everyone alive today will have 2020 happen to them sometime in their lifetime. I still think you can complain about it though - complaining is the spice of life.
It sucks not being able to go ahead with plans and I really feel the disappointment of a move falling through. Personally I had a semi-temporary living situation set up to escape the never-ending feuds of cohabitation, but while doing an inspection before subletting I found out the bathroom floor is sinking uncontrollably, and so will my tiny savings now that this needs fixing. Not really to do with covid-19 or any political upheavals, but it’s definitely a 2020-mood. I also bought a gaming console to console me. It made me very sedentary since it was not for fitness games, so I might have made a mistake there
At least the weather is nice. I watched a few how to-videos in the hopes of not crashing and crushing my new helmet while mastering standing-on-a-wobbly-plank-balancing-on-four-wheels-with-no-breaks-other-than-my-poor-feet. If I ride it quick enough I might escape any more 2020 damage (failing, and falling into a coma, would work as well).
Mastering (or at least surviving) a new skill, particularly a physical one, works great as a mood enhancer for me. Besides longboarding I’m working on teaching my cat to sit on command. It’s challenging, since she prefers to stay lying down most of the time. We truly are soul mates.
Do you have any pets, or things you’ve always kinda wanted to try but never dared because “god damn it, you’re an adult, you can’t roll around on a plank all padded up like a toddler trying to walk with a full diaper” or other dumb reasons?
UPDATE: My mental health declined even more and I couldn’t be arsed to log in to talk about it. However I did not die! I’m doing a little better now.
I guess I’m not the only one struggling; Huel had a midlife crisis and started flogging jeans.
edit: I popped by to see if Cinnamon Swirl 3.0’s price is supposed to be higher than the other flavours, and I see that it is. I might get some anyway as I’ve bought nothing but Vanilla for ages.
Aw welcome back @David. Glad ur are doing a bit better. To my taste cinnamon swirl is an aquired taste. I much prefered the rtd cinnamon swirl but only as a treat. Loads love it though. Take care
Hi @David was wondering where you’d got to. Great to see you again
That’s a very delicate way of describing what went on there
Great to see you back. Have you smashed the Huel bars in one day or does the record still stand?
Cinnamon swirl is actually my favourite “flavour”. My top 2 are original and CS.
I didn’t like Cinnamon swirl. I finished the bag but couldn’t get to like it. My favourites are salted caramel and chocolate now.
But my next order to try is black edition strawberry + cream and cookies + cream
In my opinion strawberry and cream is a letdown. A 50/50 mix with that and cookies and cream is excellent. Someone else recommended it and it’s really good. I like Salted Caramel tho.
Great. If I’m not liking them I’ll try the 50-50 mix.
Thanks for the kinds words, yous lot. It’s always mostly lovely on this forum.
I’ve ordered a bag of Premium Swirl. I see mixed opinions here but the mighty @Phil_C recommends it and has he ever been wrong? If it tastes like arseholes I’ll cut it with Vanilla until it only tastes vaguely of arseholes.
That record will stand for the rest of time, I reckon. I can’t afford any Huel products except yer basic whitebag powders. Been necking nowt but Vanilla for the past year.
some people like the taste of arseholes apparently. Then again some people like the taste of Berry powder, so it takes all sorts.
I’d eat 500 arseholes before another drop of Berry passes my lips.
That’s similar to a line from Stagger Lee by Nick Cave
constantly - at least according to my HR manager - about a great many things
To add my two cents, the Cinnamon Swirl is in my top 3. I can’t, however, say if it tastes like a certain orifice.
That’s your homework for today.
I too am happy to see you back! I used to lurk here a lot and enjoyed your antics.
