FAQs

When will the USA get these?

Stayed tuned for the end of the year. We can’t wait to bring these to the USA, they just take a little longer to ship. If all goes well you’ll see these this December :crossed_fingers:

When will Germany get these?

At the moment we don’t have a clear timeline for a German launch, it’s not confirmed yet. We will keep you posted.

Why were they in Sainsbury’s before the website?

Retailers have very specific times of the year you can put your products on their shelves. Sainsbury’s is twice per year (it’s called a ‘range review’). So we wanted to get these new flavours in store for that range review and not have to wait 6 months (and we busted a gut to do it!). For our online store, we can be flexible on when we launch, so in this case due to the timeline we had to get Sainsbury’s stock made first, followed by the online stock.

Why didn’t we announce the new flavours in Sainsbury’s?

We considered it, however, we’re actually only in ~200 stores right now and in the end we didn’t want to send Hueligans off excitedly into their local Sainsbury’s only to find out it’s not in 5 out of 6 stores. It’s difficult to get store lists from retailers quickly so we wouldn’t have even been able to tell you the stores.

If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to ask!

Haven’t tried the latte one but sorry to say I did not like the strawberry and banana.
I found the banana taste to be quite odd and leaning the wrong way on the banana/glue axis
Also, I believe it may have upset my stomach They to be fair I’ve had two and it might be coincidence. May try one more in the name of science, but I’m not gonna be buying this regularly Much prefer the flavours inversion too

Don’t you love voice recognition or miss recognition?

Sorry to hear that you were not a fan of the Strawberry & Banana.

Curious to know what you mean by this, is doesn’t sound ideal to be honest?

As for the upset stomach, I’m ever so sorry this might have been the case. Would you be able to drop us an email at team@huel.com so I can look into this for you?

Thanks for the info on the Sainsbury/website launch timings and announcement. :+1:

Tried Strawberry Banana and dayummmmm, it’s good!!! I’d say it’s the first RTD that has a slightly more powdery taste, but it doesn’t bother me at all. In fact, I like the texture and it reminds me of those old soft yellow foam bananas and pink shrimp sweets.

I don’t usually buy Black RTD, but I’m definitely adding a few Strawberry Banana singles to each order going forward. Hope this comes to standard RTD too as a v3.0. I don’t like any of the v2.0 flavours at all, but I love all 4 of the v1.0s. This is the first new flavour since v1.0 RTDs that I really enjoy! Nice work

Soft yellow foam bananas and pink shrimp sweets? :star_struck: wow!

Really hyped you are fan, it’s a real hit here in the office!

As for coming to the standard RTD, I don’t think that will happen sadly as the formulas to get this great-tasting product is completely different. That being said, I’ve been wrong before

@Mark_Huel I am fan! Hah, no that makes sense. Plugged it into my Huel price calculator and a batch of Black Strawberry Banana RTD is £36.90 on an £85+ subscription, which is surprisingly only £1.80 more than the RTD variety box v1.0.

I already get 2 x RTD variety box v1.0 monthly, so have just replaced one of those with the Black Strawberry Banana RTD – look forward to the next delivery :sunglasses:

Speaking of my Huel calculator, do you know if the prior feedback about making the prices simple to see again is being considered? It’s pretty nuts that I need to always refer to a spreadsheet I made a while back with formulas that auto-calculate the prices of Huel products with the 10% subscription discount and 10% £85+ tier discount

Before the new discount system was introduced, it was so simple to see how much products will cost with both discounts and is such an easy win for upselling. In addition to it being clear and quick to manage my own subscription, I used to also instantly be able to show potential customers who I was recommending Huel to, how much a batch of [Huel product] would cost them monthly. But since that change a year ago, it’s still a faff needing to create a fake subscription or modify my own, do all that, then see the cost in Upcoming Deliveries, tell them the price(s), then delete subscription/revert all the changes.

If each product page simply showed the prices of ‘one-time’, ‘subscription’ and ‘subscription with £85+ total’, this would be so much easier, make more regular customers want to increase their spend, and help show potential new customers the actual cheaper cost if they were to get a bottle a month or similar

Understood Hex!!

So we are making some exciting changes which will hopefully begin to make your life easier in this form! The last thing we want is for you to have to go through so much work just to order.

As for being a fan, I am beyond glad to hear you are

That’s awesome to hear, thanks Mark! Look forward to the changes

sips my morning A-Z

Unflavoured BE RTD would also be okay, even better.

We’re really keen to launch the new BE RTD flavours into Germany, but due to some production complexities we need a few more retailers to take these flavours before we have enough volume, combined with online, to make these for Germany. Check back in with us in January and we’ll hope we have good news for you!

Ok I’ve tried a couple more strawberry/banana.
I think the first two I had (from Sainsbury’s Enfield A10) were off as they definitely tasted worse/mesed with my stomach.
I still do not like it much though - The sweetness is off the scale to the point of being unpleasant.
The overall flavour still has that glue note that I detected before Which is something to do with a banana and loaded levels of sweetness I think
I drink it if there was nothing else But it’s not a patch on strawberries and cream version two ( Which has also had it sweetness increased, I believe)

Why the increase in sweetness?

Sorry that the Strawberries & Banana isn’t for you. The Black Edition Ready to drink was designed to be more creamier and less sweeter flavour like our original ready-to-drink.

In terms of increasing sweeteners, this isn’t something that has happened across our ready-to-drink range

Thanks for your reply
Interesting. The flavours changed a little recently - just little tweaks.
I perceived an increase in sweetness - If you say this is not an increase in sweeteners It must be some other flavouring wizardry.
Overall, the changes didn’t seem significant.
The sweetness in the strawberry/banana Must sit at a crossover between the banana flavour and the Stevia flavour which gives Me, a sensation of extreme sweetness. This Is also where the glue type thing is for me

Do you get that across the range? I get the metallic synthetic aftertaste from stevia but in some of the flavours it’s pretty well masked and I don’t get it at all while in others its more pronounced - with my age and smoking habit, my tastebuds probably are in a poor state of disrepair

Not in V2rtd. But definitely in BE rtd.
That’s why they don’t work for me

I just tried the strawberry and banana Black edition RTD. It’s not an amazing flavour but perfectly drinkable for me, yes, sandy texture, and not as creamy as the banana RTD, but not too sweet I don’t think, way less than the strawberry cream RTD.
I’m a happy bunny, banana most of the time and this BE for when I want a bit more protein. Thanks Huel!
