Poor blending?

I’ve been about 85% Huel for a year now coming up in August. Still eating the odd normal food when out and about. It’s mostly been working for me, drinking plenty of water before and after to avoid any digestion issues from the absorption of the powder drinks.

In May / June a Vanilla Powder 3.1 I ordered wasn’t blended so well… felt lumpy or like ‘slimy seeds / pips’ were in it. No issue, these things happened. Reached out to support, and as always, they looked after me and sent me another bag of my choosing. They accidentally sent me the Huel Black version of salted caramel but I took it as a chance to give that a try.

My next order, the Powder bags were Banana, Cinnamon Swirl and regular Salted Caramel. Cinnamon Swirl and Banana are both just not blended very well at all, I can still taste / feel and actually ‘see’ the bigger bits (not sure which ingredient these bits are) and to be honest, the after taste (texture / bits) it leaves in my mouth can sometimes knock me feeling sick and it’s been hugely off putting.

Has anybody else experienced this and is it considered normal?

I hate to / am hesitant to complain too much to Huel as I’m not sure if this is a ‘me’ problem, or an actual problem with the product that others are experiencing.

I was thinking of going back to normal food more, but the cost, hassle and even expense of buying a tonne of things doesn’t compare. I overlooked a bad batch but I’m a bit concerned that this might keep happening.

I mentioned lumps of chocolate powder in two bags of black Salted Caramel, but that was no problem, just a surprise. My shakes look like yours, texture-wise. I like to see the bits of ingredients in there, if it was completely smooth and homogenous it’d be less appealing. Tastes certainly differ. .

Huel CS are usually good at dealing with bad batches. It might be worth emailing them so they can check batch numbers and investigate issues at the factory/storage
