After reading through a few recycling posts i am wondering if there are any plans in the future to change packaging? Maybe different colours for different flavours, maybe a range of 're usable tubs and use paper packaging as refills. Or plastic tubs a bit like other protein powders which could be 're used for other uses.
Does anyone else think this would be a good idea?

Brilliant i will be purchasing these. Would be nice of the option for paper packaging sold as refills for these tubs if customers have got them. But thanks again

No probs.
Paper packaging wouldn’t protect the Huel sufficiently and would be prone to breakage.
We’ve had it discussed here a gazillion times.
Thats a good point. I’ve seen how the delivery drivers throw round parcels so maybe paper isn’t the best. Would be nice for a recyclable alternative tho.

Yeah exactly

Hello
First time poster. Been using Huel on/off for about 2 years now.
Like a lot of people, I’m increasingly conscious of my plastic/non-recyclable waste and making efforts to avoid it where possible. The Blue Planet guilt is strong. It seems to me to be a no-brainer that the packaging for Huel could and should be recyclable. I’ve searched the forum posts and seen this has been raised before but there’s no recent update.
I get that the environmental impact of the packaging is small compared …
Hi,
Having read a few threads here it seems like there is no urgent movement towards a more sustainable packaging just yet.
So since some of us are looking to go minimal waste my question is:
Could the packaging be returned to Huel for reuse?
Or suggest working with a company like Terracycle to work out a recycling program as they work with materials that cannot be put in the usual council recycling. They have started a programme for baby food pouches that were not recyclable.

I’ll probably get shot down in flames but is there a business relationship between Soylent and Huel?
The packaging is identical, as the general layout / content of the website and forum? Is there any reason for it? I personally like the layout and ‘clean’ look of the site, but it was quite interesting to see how similar it was to Soylents!
Just interested. Not wanting to cause any controversy
Anyone else think the packaging could be improved slightly?
I was thinking along the lines of a wider opening, maybe I’m heavy handed but I seem to spill quite a bit of powder when getting the scoops out and I think it’s down to the opening not being quite big enough.
Also I find the seal quite fiddly, could this be improved with a zip lock? Maybe a one off but opening one of my flavour boosts the seal part was stuck together so tightly that it came off one side of the packet and now I have to…
I think the plastic bag is good but should be bigger in size. You should offer bottles of tetrapack with an specific opener to maximise the space in the deliveries and in our houses. Bottles of 2-2.5L all square, like the milk ones.
What do you think?
I prefer the idea of a powder refillable Huel Tetrapack. The idea is to have the bags as refills and the bottle to serve the huel powder. That would be very appealing to use.
PS: I tried to use a Joylent Bottle as a refillable huel powder and th…
Hi, I love huel a lot!
I’m wondering is there any way for you guys to use recyclable packaging
As if you use huel alot, the waste adds up, all those bags!
Thanks
My girlfriend and I want to strive to a zero waste lifestyle.
I do absolutely love Huel and want to continue.
Yet I have no idea right now what to do with used packaging.
Will it be possible in a close future that we could send them back to the Huel company for reconditioning?
I’d love that!
What other ideas may you have?
The pouches which the huel powder comes in, are they okay to recycle?

Huel have definitely looked at recyclable packaging before, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they still are. Last I heard someone was working on a biodegradable material with the same level of protection for Huel in transit… just waiting on you, science!
