Shaker bottle issue

I recently received my huel, t shirt and shaker bottle. So far so good with the huel!

The plastic mesh does not fit inside the lid on the shaker. I can sort of force it in sideways but it slides out again. I’ve noticed this issue on another protein shaker bottle I had and wrote it off as a cheap design; however having the same issue again I’m wondering if I’m doing something wrong or if this is another cheap design? It doesnt clip in nicely like one I had once before.

Don’t you just place the mesh on top of the cup and then screw the lid on?

Edit - it’s April the first isn’t it.
