I’ve been lurking here for a while, but it’s going well, so I’ve decided that now’s the time to post. I’ve been a vegan for 22 years, so I was very pleased to find a product to suit me.
I started using Huel to help me lose weight in early February. Here we are 20 weeks later. I’m 5’6" tall, and I started at 16st 12lb (236lbs, 107kg). As of today, I weigh 13st 13.5lbs (195.5lbs, 88.7kg). So I’ve lost 2st 12.5lbs (40.5lbs, 18.4kg).
At 58, I’m an experienced dieter, having been put on a diet the first time at the age of 7. I’ve been through many kinds of diets, from Cambridge (unhealthy), to Raw Vegan (very healthy, but expensive and time-consuming). My current Huel-assisted diet is the most successful yet, and also the easiest, and one of the least expensive.
I’m doing 16:8 intermittent fasting. Breakfast is at 8am, and I’m finished eating by 4pm.
I start the day with Huel Granola, cashew milk, and fruits, especially berries. Three hours later I make a low fat lunch in my pressure cooker. A typical example would be quinoa, lentils, sweet potato, broccoli, courgettes, carrots, garlic, spices, and either blended tomatoes or water (about 500 kcal). Three hours later, I have 140g of Vanilla Huel, often with cacao or toffee flavouring.
Occasionally I top up my calories with a Huel Cocoa and Orange bar. Once a week, I replace two meals by eating out, as it’s an important part of my social life. I keep my choices sensible.
This is a work in progress. I intend to make it to my healthy weight of 11st (154lbs, 69.85kg), if possible.
I recommend Huel to everyone who has had a lifelong struggle with weight.
