Travelling with Huel during hot weather

Do you think you’d have the same situation with non-NCP car parks?

I got these in costco https://www.amazon.co.uk/Takeya-ThermoFlask-Pack-Blue-Silver/dp/B01D7NJLQA/ref=sr_1_2?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1469320769&sr=1-2&keywords=takeya one flask holds just under two “meals” (500mls 100g each meal). Premade the night before and refrigerated … then pour into the flask with some ice when I’m out hiking. Keeps cold for 24hrs, nice wide mouth to pour into (and easy cleaning), handle for carrying or clipping to a bag.

Looks good, Daniel. Yesterday I went to Go Outdoors and bought 6 of the Hi Gear 0.5L thermos flasks. They were on offer too, so I got a good deal. My plan is, it gives me up to 4 bottles of Huel plus 2 bottles of water for a full day out. Or alternatively I could just have diluted Huel in all 6 of them.

I’m not actually going out hiking today after all because my friend’s plans have changed, but I am conducting an experiment today. I’ve made up 4 thermos flasks of Huel with 4 ice cubes in each. The label says it keeps it cool for up to 24 hours, so it will be interesting to see how it goes.

I have gone on 3-4 hours long hikes with pre-mixed Huel in hot weather and am still alive to tell about it, but as others pointed out that’s not advisable.
My preferred method is to carry the water and Huel separated and mix them before consuming (it’s not that messy if you portion the powder in kitchen bags). This way it can last for long enough for most purposes.

So far so good with the thermos flasks. I put 4 ice cubes into each bottle, and the ice cubes are still solid after 3 hours. After that they melt, but the Huel is still cool more than 9 hours later.

Next time I think I will try blending the ice with the water so that the whole mixture is equally cold when it goes into the thermos flask.
