Why do YOU use Huel? 😊

I use Huel because the shaker looks good against my enormous Victorian beard and slicked-back hair while I’m sipping and browsing in Whole Foods Market

OMG what can I say that others here haven’t already? I started using huel because the convenience, low price per portion but high quality ingredients, balanced nutrition & good eco principles all appealed…

I’ll keep using it because it tastes good, even delicious depending on what I add to it & I love how easy it is to tailor it to my own taste on any given day but I’m still getting consistent nutrition…

Above all else tho, it makes me feel brilliant & getting up in a morning is so much easier now & I feel so much better all round, I just wouldn’t go back… & that’s just from 1, sometimes 2 shakes a day! Weight loss & absence of sugar cravings are other huel blessings I am happy to receive. 5 weeks in now & I’m like, Sign me up to the cult! It is awesome stuff.

Oh one more slightly abstract reason: waking up to my first meal of Huel makes me feel like I’m CHOOSING to put my health first and love myself every single day, to nourish my body and give it the fuel it deserves

I totally agree. As Joe Cross said about healthy eating; the distance from our hand to our mouth is the most important element of control.

We are bombarded with advertising and peer pressure, but it is extremely empowering to actually choose the healthy option.

Mainly because I can’t be bothered to think about breakfast, but still want something healthy. Other points like vegan, good for environment etc are very nice bonuses.

For me, Huel replaces dinner every day. I want to feel healthier, (maybe) lose some weight and save some money - Ā£40 for a month’s worth of dinners is bloody brilliant!

I’m 2 weeks in to my Huel journey, using it to replace breakfast and lunch.

Like many on here, it’s a multitude of reasons for me:

1 I’m time-poor (4 young kids) and really don’t have the time to prepare nutritious breakfasts and lunches for myself every day.
2 I’m in a desk-bound office job. Lunch has been usually a meal deal from Sainsbury’s or Greggs, consisting of a sandwich, packet of crisps and a fruit juice. Although not the worst lunch in the world, all that bread wasn’t doing anything for my gut or belly.
3 I’m a terrible inbetween-meals snacker, not helped by the office continually stocked with cakes, sweets and crisps that everyone brings in. Huel has eliminated 95% of my snacking at a stroke.
4 With the 2 shakes a day, I know I’m getting balanced, nutritious food with no nasties or junk in there.
5 Huel has really helped with my sugar intake also - I’ve eliminated 95% of added-sugar intake (eg sugar in coffee, sweets, cakes etc).

I was worried about the impact Huel may have on my gut and bowels but the affect has been pretty minimal. I’ve gone for the gluten-free version, which again is better for my gut.

Loving it so far.

Ease, simplicity, time, sugar cravings, calorie control…

but also I’ve found it is great for my digestive health. My Poo has never been better and my farts are few and far between and way less potent. My wife has never been happier.

IBS related issues requiring a low FODMAP diet to maintain a life with close to no crippling stomach cramps and ability to spend less than 6 hours a day on the porcelain throne.

other than ready salted crisps, popcorn, and a few other snacks, huel is all I eat.
trying to maintain a full low FODMAP diet on traditional food, especially bending the households meal prep toward it, takes significant thought, time, planning, compromise.

just have huel instead

I lost about 4 1/2 stone in a year (not trying but not wholly unwelcome) and needed something to help me maintain my weight and maybe slightly increase it.
I was drinking smoothies at work (I struggle to eat solid food as it gives me pain) and a colleague recommended Huel - I haven’t looked back :+1:

Hi I’m on Day 2 of Huel :grinning: I don’t dislike it but it’s going to take me a little while I think. My reasons as weight loss (I need to lose 5 stones), and I’m vegetarian but love the idea and values of veganism, and reduction of waste is probably a close second. Convenience isn’t a major plus for me.

I have 3 scoops in the morning as a breakfast. Reason is I have no appetite for ordinary food until about 10am (getting up between 5 and 6) and I like to exercise in the mornings, walking or going to an aerobic class, pilates or yoga which is normally 9 - 10. Feel ought to have something inside me. Also really enjoy it, love the taste, like a ā€˜milk shake’ (half and half natural and vanilla, all vanilla too sweet,) . I often want to have more than 3 scoops as I enjoy it, this is why I only allow myself half vanilla, if I had totally vanilla would be like a sweet treat. Non flavoured OK too. Sometimes I have more than 3 scoops between 8 and 9am ish. This is when I’ve lost my appetite due to stress or depression which I get now and then.

Should have said no appetite for food until about 11, often 12 or 1.

Really should have read through my initial post I know…It can be a bit of a problem that I find Huel so delicious that the tendency is to over indulge instead of eating ordinary food. When I have had more it isn’t a meal substitute but often I eat the same ordinary food plus the Huel i.e. like if one has a diet chocolate bar or ā€˜shake’ + ordinary food, when the diet choc or ā€˜shake’ supposed to be instead… I think I like drinking Huel as I’ve always really loved anything like ā€˜milk shakes’ or similar. I have a little weight I would like to lose but Huel no good for this, in fact the deliciousness just stimulates my appetite if anything. I even like the lumps when its not been shaken fully. On a different note, I should have said above that I have it for more than one meal if stressed and no appetite for ordinary food. But I try to stick to the 3 scoops a day to save money and not be extravagant

For me, choosing a product that’s better for the planet is important to me; so is consuming vegan products. I’d rather eat less food as I find eating a bit of a hassle, so I choose Huel as it fills me up and makes me feel better than any other thing I consume. I like the simplicity of eating the same thing everyday.
