24h in my Huel experience - “noisy” stomach?

Hi all
I just started my Huel adventure with my first 3 scoops of Huel yesterday as a replacement for my dinner, and by a 2 scoop lunch replacement and a 1 scoop snack. Otherwise I’ve been eating as I normally do.
I’ve been drinking the coffee version and have tried with a little addition of cinnamon, nutmeg and, for my last little snack, I tried cocoa powder. All of those tasted quite ok.

My stomach, however, doesn’t seem to think it’s the world greatest idea - due to lack of language skills, all I can do is to describe it to be extremely loud/noisy and I can actually feel the air/gas inside move around if I put my hand on top of it. But there’s no discomfort of any sorts though, isn’t that odd? No burps or farts or other sign of the gas, so it really strikes me as odd and makes me wonder what’s going on. I’m a little worried it’s some sort of allergic reaction, but I have little to no experience in this regard, so who knows? Maybe I should just feel lucky that there’s no pain?

My usual diet is somewhat healthy and balanced with grains, veggies and fruit, eating meat 2-3 times a week.

Anyone having a similar experience?

Yeah I get this occasionally, but I don’t think anything is wrong. Perhaps the noise of digestion is a little noisier because we’re all filling up on a liquid?

It’s never caused me any problems though.

Yes, felt the same too. I think the best way to introduce Huel is doing baby steps. First two days I did 3 scoops a day and felt a lot of bloating. Then I turned to just 50gr a day as a complement, for a week, and increased step by step. Now everything is ok, I found the perfect balance for my body (100gr of Huel - 500ml water or tea + various flavours per shake), and after an Huel I feel amazing.

@Jacob85 Thank you, now i dont feel as much as a freak :joy:

@danosavi and here I thought I was doing baby steps by having a max of 3 scoops a day - but thank you I’m gonna try and see if going it even more gradually and only eat a single scoop a day for the rest of the week will prove any different :grinning:

 Thought the same, but our bowels sometimes have different opinions.

And welcome to the Fellowship of the Shake, as I call it

I think it has to do with the increase in a balanced fibre in the huel. So at first there is an adjustment in the digestion. But I find that long term it has made my digestion more healthy and typical and things more regular.

It’s better today, stomach is still grumbling but not as near as loud as day 2. Whichever the reason I hope it’s soon to be over so I can eat more

Now I have the opposite problem: when I eat normal food (once a day), I feel heavier and more bloated. Huel is addictive

I’m mostly eating HUEL, except the occasional snack here and there or actual meal. At first the trips to urinate and void my bowels were constant, now they’ve tapered off somewhat but the gas is absolutely horrid, noxious and constant. I have to sneak out at work a lot to pass gas. I’ve been eating HUEL for about 2 weeks… I’ll keep eating it, but hopefully this too will pass…

I’m on Day 3 with using 2 scoops of unsweetened/gluten free Huel and 1.5 cups (approx 400 ml) unsweetened almond milk cut with water for breakfast/pre-workout then eating regular meals the rest of the day. I’m on an elimination plan due to inflammation so my diet is ridiculously clean.

Today is a noisy gut day for me as well. I’m a little bit bloated and farty however, it’s only me and my cat at home and he doesn’t care - LOL! - (although had to make a few trips out of smell-shot at the gym earlier; have mercy it’s not attractive)

In reading other posts, it seems a very similar beginning reaction for some of us. For me personally, I’m thinking my other meals are possibly a contributing factor along with some detoxing still happening. I hope it settles for all of us soon!
