Hey
So for about a month I was consuming read to drink huel and I found it be great. No problems - I was going for the banana and vanilla flavours. I decided to buy a powdered bag to save money and make at home. I went for the black edition banana flavour and everytime I’ve had it, I’ve had pain and bloating. Plus uncomfortable bowel movements.
The ready to drink bottles that were fine often weren’t black edition. Is there a difference here that could be causing this?
Should I try the standard ‘white’ Huel?
And what are the differences between bottle and powdered?
I really want to use Huel as 2 meals a day, but I now have a huge bag I am scared to touch.
Hey!
Thanks for getting in touch with us.
So the first thing I would ask is if you have any dietary requirements or any food allergies.
Hey
Honestly, no, not to my knowledge! I was drinking & enjoying Huel ready to drink without any issues. But something in the powder doesn’t agree with me, so an allergy test might be worth it, or maybe it’s in the preparation? Maybe its a bad bag? I don’t know.
If you consume any hot beverages (like tea or coffee) around the same time as Huel, you may experience some temporary bloating. This is due to the fact that hot beverages do not empty from the stomach as rapidly as cooler beverages; thus slowing the other contents of the stomach, i.e. Huel. If food and drink empty from the stomach quicker it means less bloating.
