Can I still drink Huel if I have Diarrhea?

I’m at 1 month of Huel, it’s fantastic and I had 0 problem after the first week of settlement. Saturday night I ate Chinese and I had diarrhea all night, like green/yellow water (yeah nice details) and yesterday I’ve eaten only 2 boiled eggs in all day. Today I didn’t eat at all yet but I know that I need to base my diet with liquid mostly to cure the diarrhea and I’m asking if Huel would be good or bad. There are TONS of fibers inside but I also know that some fibers are good even when you have diarreha (like carrot and apple ones). So…would be good or not?

Sure, fill your boots. I hope not literally though!

If you can’t keep foods down it maybe a way to help get some calories in

Yeah but my worries are about fibers. They usually tend to let you go to the bathroom easily. And of course I don’t want to XD

Huel has a mixture of soluble (good for dire rears - sic) and insoluble (not so good for dire rears).

I think it’s worth giving it a trial run (pun intended). Drink plenty of water too.

I did it a couple hours ago, until now it’s fine and was good to eat finally something. I used milk rice instead of water!

You may have had food poisoning in which case fibre is of little importance. You will want to stay hydrated and include electrolytes - sports drinks are quite good here.

The added benefit of Huel is that it’s impossible for it to give you food poisoning, make you vomit or have diarrhea (as long as you use clean water and observe proper hygiene). That alone should make it a great idea to consume Huel when you’re having issues.

Sorry but this is fundamentally inaccurate.

As Huel is a dry food it’s much less likely to spoil this is true but, once you’ve opened that packet you’ve exposed the contents to whatever is floating around your kitchen.

In addition, a lot of food poisonings don’t come from the food itself they come from the environment - it’s irrelevant what you’re eating if you had poop on your hand when you prepared it.

As it’s a dry food that is sold in resealable packets it’s fair to say drinking Huel is less likely to poison you than a high risk food but not true to say it’s impossible.

That’s why I said:

as long as you use clean water and observe proper hygiene

As long as Huel is stored properly, and used within proper time, it is impossible for it to give you food poisoning. You cannot say that about other foods - frequent salmonella outbreaks on produce, eggs, gone off milk being sold, improperly processed meat, and so on.
