Chocolate v3 - urgh!

How does Mint Chocolate compare to Chocolate? Haven’t tried Chocolate yet but an order just arrived today with one bag of Mint Chocolate in it and two bags of Chocolate. Can taste absolutely no chocolate in the Mint Chocolate flavor and the small hint of mint is rather chemical flavored. Not exactly a great taste.

Seems like I’m going to have to mix this one with Vanilla, Banana (not thried this one yet either) or Unflavoured (one scoop for two scoops other flavor) like I did with the Berry flavor.

I agree about the taste of v3. I’m still not entirely sure that I’ve got a bad bag. I agree with your summary about the taste. I had some 30 minutes ago right now and I’m genuinely worried about burps bringing the taste back.

I just don’t know how they got this so very wrong. My plan to use up the rest of the one bag I have is to put instant coffee powder into it. Hopefully that will work.

As for future orders, I’m just not sure what I’ll do. 2.3 has to go off sale at some point. After that I’m sunk. I just can’t drink 3.0.

Yep, Huel flavours are quite disappointing. How is it possible that Huel + Normal cacao is much better than Huel Chocolate?

WTF Huel? WTF?

So just use Huel and Cacao, or Cocoa or any other of the myriad different tasting chocolate powders out there and pick one that suits your taste whether its sweet bitter earthy whatever - a taste palette as varied as the different kinds of chocolate is never going to result in one flavour fits all. honestly when people say it doesn’t taste like chocolate what chocolate exactly are they referring to? that’s like saying moscato doesn’t taste the same as chardonnay.

Its just weird that a simple combination at home is much better that what Huel offers as the official flavour.

I want to try the banana flavour but after trying chocolate, berry, vainilla and choc&mint I dont want to risk anymore. If I want any flavour I create myself.

Problem solved.

V2.3 flavours were overall better than v3 flavours so I understand airiartev quite well.

I can’t tell the difference!

I bought 2 x chocolate Huel Black bags and thought the different taste was because it was a totally different product. So I’ve just received 2 x chocolate white bags thinking I was going to get the yummy old flavour I was used to but alas! I now have to get through four bags of this nasty new flavour. The old chocolate was malty and delicious. It also made a pretty decent base to add certain flavour boosts to; however this new flavour overpowers any flavour boosts I’ve tried to add. Really going to struggle to continue with Huel now.

I will say Banana huel is pretty good. Its the best one that isnt Original imo.

I’ve tried the a Berry and Mint Chocolate and neither have the horrid after taste of the new chocolate. The mint is really minty so not to my taste but it’s okay. The berry I will actually get again and I’m going to give the banana a go. However plain vanilla blended with fresh fruit is really the nicest way to do it for me.

I’m talking about BLACK: Is the move to V1.1 permanent? The Black protein-focused branding seemed to go well with the less sweet, more authentic chocolate taste but I feel they have gone for a gimicky “sweet is good so sweeter must be better, right?” approach. I find the taste of the V1.1 vs previous version hard to stomach. I wonder if enough testing was done and whether there’s a chance they will revert to previous formula. This trend of sweetness over everything has gone too far.

I agree with this thread, the v3 chocolate doesn’t even “slightly” taste like chocolate. It’s just a horrible taste, 1 serving and I won’t be touching it again

I quite like the “new” Vanilla, reminds me of weetabix

Such a shame you aren’t liking it. What do you think it needs - a darker chocolate taste? Perhaps try adding some cocoa. We also have a Chocolate Flavour Boost so check that out, as it might help you out.

Hi Tim,
Unfortunately it tastes nothing like chocolate to me; which is sad because I love chocolate. The closest thing I can describe it to is chocolate ovaltine, but with a more chemical taste… it’s definitely too acidic for chocolate, but without me tasting a hint, I can’t really guide you further sorry

It’s not so much the flavour as the sweetener, it has an odd aftertaste.
