Who knows - thats why Iām asking how it will work.
Not random at all! Any product which isnāt a meal including bars, protein powder, Daily A-Z, will count as 0.5 of a meal in the customerās loyalty scheme counter.
This will be the same whenever we launch a product - if weāre marketing it as a meal, it counts as 1 meal, anything else will be 0.5.
thanks @Charlotte_Huel (boxes on the way - mixer update to follow )
So Iāve chilled, cracked open and drank one of the caffeinated ones.
It actually tastes surprisingly good. More cherry than raspberry to me but thatās fine, and it wasnāt actually overpoweringly sweet (or artificially sweet) as I was expecting. Definitely not like red bull or things like it.
Itās better than I anticipated, although from early reviews elsewhere I wasnāt expecting it to be bad (as everyone seems to be quite in favour of the flavour profile).
I can see that it would indeed make a good mixer.
erythritol and sucralose may not please some but I personally prefer them to sugar and it no doubt would be horrible without any sweetener at all.
Iāve just ordered a couple of boxes of caffeine free. Not promising Iāll continue to buy but will at least give them a try. Hereās hoping my ultra sensitive gut will not revolt at the first can.
I have seen this referred to quite a few times as an energy drinkā¦ itās not one is it?
Being low-cal itās literally not an energy drink. Maple syrup is an energy drink. But I bet a cold can of Huel Daily A-Z Vitamins is energising when youāre dehydrated and run-down. Or hungover.
Thanks so much for this review! Honestly, itās formed a part of my day too (I know Iām biased but I love it!) In answer to your question, youād be okay with one a day but based on the amount of Huel you currently consume, you wouldnāt necessarily benefit from the additional vits and mins. Iād personally switch it with something as you suggested
Theyāre comparing it to Red Bull and Monster on the product page so they must want us to think of it as an energy drink. But it isnāt one.
It doesnāt make sense. Itās like comparing Huel RTD to Frijj.
Ah.
It seems like it would sit on the supermarket shelf next to kombucha rather than red bull but I havenāt looked into it too much.
Are they comparing the caffeine? I know when I used to drink Red Bull it was about the caffeine rather than the energy, it wasnāt really something I considered back then.
Iām thankful they have a caffeine free version, I canāt do caffeine anymore due to heart issues (whether that was caused by too much Red Bull Iām not sure! )
Hereās the chart from the product page. Get More Vits might be an apt comparison (Iāve never heard of it tbh) but the other two are just pop.
I used to neck loads of Red Bull too. Iād get the shakes and grind my teeth but I needed that caffeine.
Seems like poor choices for comparison really, as useful as comparing to a Ford or pair of trainers.
Regarding the fat soluble vitamins, there is the possibility or risk of hypervitaminosis, especially for vitamin A. If you additionally have other Huel products with added vitamins or supplements you could overdose it, with serious side effects.
But why add something that isnāt absorbed properly? It would be enough to add the - less ādangerousā water-soluble vitamins and maybe some other antioxidants.
Just to put in my two-pennorth. Happily two things happened 1) I enjoyed my first couple of cans of caffeine free, one yesterday, one today. Very nice, refreshing taste. Sweet but not too sweet, and 2) no nasty gut reactions so far.
The only real downside for me is the cost, so will see how things go and how much better I feel on one can per day, but first impressions
There is nothing in the drink that makes the fat-soluble vitamins absorbable, or is it?
Not sure if this was down to the usual DPD depot consignment volleyball shenanigans or not ā my cans arrived this weekend after 4 flights and 9500 miles in (fairly) good shape.
That being said, there are definite quality and FFU issues with the packaging and can printing. The perforated seams are structural weak points and not strong enough to take 4kg of lateral force. Both of my boxes were intact but more by luck than design perhaps. One of them had some tuck flaps glued over the outside and both had areas of glue randomly on the box surfaces.
Iād say they either need packing like the RTD ā with no room for movement between the secondary pack and the shipper box or in a corrugate secondary packs like the RTD.
Thank you for the feedback on the packaging- @Phil_C , I have made sure to share this with the team to see what we can do. @Hex could you please contact the team at team@huel.com with photos of the damage so we can make sure to investigate this for you as soon as possible.
Firstly, Huel A-Z is designed for those aiming to boost their daily dose of vitamins and minerals and is an excellent option to do so. We recommend this product only be consumed 1-2 times a day and fit into a well-balanced diet Regarding vitamin A, acute toxicity is only a worry when consuming levels that reach 100,000ug RE for adults, to reach this level you would therefore have to consume a whole lot of RTD A-Z!
Hey @Charlotte_Huel, yes no problem. Canāt email that specific email address though as I use iCloudās Hide My Email service for all websites. Tried using Huelio but couldnāt get past the ārefund or replacementā option as I donāt need either! So have posted below.
The opening is almost the entire length of the box and a can was poking out when I opened the main box, so I imagine this could be worse for some people, e.g. a can falls out and explodes when being bounced around the main box.
Hope that helps!

And thanks @Jess_Huel for clarifying about consuming with other Huel daily. Have switched 1 Huel powder for this daily
