Experience of Huel after surgery

I’ve been using Huel for just over a year and in that time have lost just over 20kg by a combination of increased exercise and using for 1 or 2 meals a day. Two weeks ago I had surgery reconstructing some badly damaged ligaments in my knee (a 5 year-long saga of unpleasantness that is hopefully now over), and am now living alone on crutches with no weight bearing allowed for at least 6 weeks. This means my hands are fully occupied with the crutches unless I am leaning against something like a kitchen worktop or sitting down.

As I can’t really do much to cook at the moment I’ve been living on Huel pretty much exclusively since the surgery, and it all seems to be going well. It is a great relief to know that I’m getting healthy and filling meals while I am effectively confined at home. I’ll be interested to see what my weight is at the end of my time on crutches - frankly if I’ve managed to not put on anything I will be delighted.

Hey there, thanks so much for taking the time to comment and share this with us. Really makes our day hearing comments like yours. So sorry to hear about the huge amount of surgery you’ve had to undergo, how is your recovery so far?

Thanks for choosing Huel. Amazing to have you on the team!

Thanks for asking - I think it’s going well. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have been considered for the surgery if I hadn’t lost all that weight to start with, and it certainly makes the recovery easier. Still on 100% Huel each day, and that’s still working out. Three weeks on crutches down, hopefully only three more weeks to go!
