I don’t have a problems with people having opinions – I do have a problem when they falsely misrepresent a product as being bad based on absolutely zero factual evidence.
But “Original” means “first”. The flavour it describes varies wildly depending on the product in question.
These don’t taste alike.
Aw hula hoops. A very long time ago I was addicted to them when I was pregnant. Dont think I’ve had them in years though.
I still like the salt and vinegar ones, and have a packet now and again.
I like them too, occasionally.
That’s why I dont buy crisps in general now because one bag is never enough. I only like plain though.
Wonder what hula hoop huel tastes like. I dont volunteer to try though as I dont fancy savoury huel drinks but could you add to hot and savoury for extra crunch.
They’d go all soggy
Yea it would be pretty disgusting.
NOW we’re talking! Great suggestion, keep them coming guys!
I wouldn’t say that’s the definition of ‘Original’ - Original Huel has sweetener and flavouring in, it’s just our Original flavour Huel, as in the first flavour we had. This is a topic for another thread but as we know we haven’t managed to exactly match it with v3.0. However it is still intended to be the Original flavour.
We’ve gone back and forth on colours in Flavour Boosts. I remember once when we went from having colouring in the Strawberry FB to then removing the colour we actually had a customer return their flavour boost to us. They said we had definitely packed the wrong flavouring into the sachet. We obviously panicked that we had a load of rogue FB with the wrong contents, so we asked them to post it back to us. It turned out all was fine, it was a Strawberry FB but with the change from colour to no-colour they were convinced it was not Strawberry. We hadn’t changed anything other than the inclusion of colour but their perception of the flavour was massively altered. Super interesting.
@mbs @Phil_C @Coup play nice, there are no silly suggestions for flavours of Huel! Someone could have suggested pork pie flavour and then we really would have been in trouble…
It is an interesting article.
as an aside - I discovered today Huel Flavour Boosts work really well in porridge too - added some Apple & Cinnamon FB and some raisins to my bowl during cooking - very nice.
Has anyone mentioned (probably yes so just +1-ing):
Cola
Strawberry cheesecake
Lime
Coconut!
I would love to see a coconut flavor. I know we had coconut and pineapple boosters, but they were removed. I’d go for just coconut. It would be the best if they were just one of the base Huel powder flavours, but it would still be good if they were in the form of boosters. Please, make it happen!
Also I’d suggest some kind of mushroom flavour for the Hot & savoury.
Coconut good, mushroom bad!
Old topic, but thought I’d share my flavour suggestions. I’m only a RTD drinker rather than powder, but either way I’d love to see:
-
Coconut - My number one most wanted flavour. With the creamy consistency of the RTDs, this would be perfect. Has to happen!
-
Maple & Pecan - My second most wanted flavour profile. Tried this combo before (porridge, granola, pancakes) and it always works.
-
Mango - Refreshing. I’ve never had a bad experience with anything mango flavoured!
-
Apple Pie - I know the Apple Cinnamon flavour boost is in this sort of territory, but a full on Apple Pie flavour with additional spicing e.g. nutmeg would be wonderful.
-
Chocolate Orange - Classic. It works.
-
Passion Fruit - Similar vibe to Mango, maybe a combination of the two?
-
Banoffee Pie - The banana RTD is a winner already, why not take it to the next level?
-
Black Forest Gateau - The combination of the chocolate and cherry would work well as a flavour I think. Why not do a whole ‘desert’ flavour range as a limited edition? Eton Mess?
-
Key Lime Pie - Another ‘desert’ flavour that could really work as a Huel flavour.
seconding all of that. esp COCONUT!
I’m down with most of them. Some great suggestions there. Many years ago Provamel used to make a coconut soya drink - they still do strawberry and chocolate. The coconut was awesome though. A flavour like that would work well in RTD.
I did try a mango meal (competitor of Huel) but didn’t really like that.
I’ve seen pistachio as an option from another competitor so that may be good.those were both powder not rtd
Does that competitor have hazelnut as well and begin with the letter Y?
No to both of those questions.
If it’s the mates of the P.S., the pistachio is one of the must awful things I’ve ever had in my life, instead the coconut one is pretty good!
