Using Huel for the first time yesterday, enjoying it so far, but I’m a little confused on the packaging.
I’ve followed the “making the perfect Huel” (3 scoops and 600ml of water) on the top left of the rear sticker, but does that equate to the 125g serving size or 100g? The nutritional chart is only given on a complete day basis, either 4x 125g or 5x 100g.
So how much of my daily nutrition is in the one shake of 3 scoops?
I’m starting off on 2, morning and night. Ease into it slowly and see where it goes. I’m having Huel as part of a calorie controlled diet to lose some pounds. Not going full cold turkey tho, seems unwise to me…
I do like turkey, nice coastal spots if you go the right time of year…
In seriousness though, I’m struggling big time with the vanilla powder and water. I had a shake last night with milk instead and that was much nicer, much more like a shake than just powdery water. Is milk a suitable substitute in your opinion?
Measuring by scoop is a bit hit and miss really as scoopfuls vary in weight. The basic recommendations are for a daily intake of 2000kcal. You need to find out your TDEE first then work out how many grams of Huel you will need per meal. If you want to lose weight, stick to a daily 500 calorie deficit and you should succeed. Works for me. I use MyFitnessPal to count calories.
PS Mixing with milk is very nice but adds calories.
I’m already tracking all my food and drink in the MyFitnessPal app, works brilliant for me, and yes I’m sure it would add calories, but I’m happy to allow for that
I used plant rather than dairy milk for about 2years in huel. But now I use just water. I don’t know if you have seen it suggested but if you can refrigerate overnight the taste and texture both vastly improve. I always refrigerate my Huel now.
