Been on the OG powder and Daily Greens for around a month—amazing stuff btw, feel like a new man—and I’ve only just noticed on the packet for the Daily Greens it says to have it with food while I’ve just been chugging it of a morning alongside my Huel. So my question is; have a messed up royally or am I fine?
if you’re taking regular Huel meals in the day then you really do not need to be taking the greens. They posted this advisory previously on the product page - not sure if it holds true after they reformulated it:
Generally speaking, if you’re consuming one serving of Huel Powder (Black Edition, v3.1, or Essential) or Instant Meals and want to include one serving of Huel Daily Greens to get an added boost, we don’t see why this couldn’t be possible so long as you don’t have any medical conditions which require specific recommendations/restrictions. However, if you’re consuming more than one serving of other Huel products, Huel Daily Greens wouldn’t be necessary.
I’m only having one serving a day in the morning, and I don’t have any medical conditions (that I know of), so it should be fine. Hopefully.
I’ve been wondering about this for awhile. When a supplement or a dose of medication says ‘to be consumed with or after food’: how much food does that need to be? Would a couple of apples be enough or does it need to be a meal containing all the macros, for proper absorption? Is a 400kc shake of Huel enough, or should it always be a proper plateful of solid food?
Take with food instructions are usually to help with medication absorption or avoid irritating / upsetting the stomach. In most cases, a Huel meal (or a light snack) should be enough to do this.
My experience has been that “with food” means a light meal of about 350 calories. Some medication needs a bit more and in that case it’s usually specified as a substantial meal of 500 or so calories
Thanks both.
It’s good news that a liquid meal like 400kc of Huel will be sufficient. I’d much rather wash the pills down with Huel at breakfast than wait for a solid meal later in the day when there’s a risk of forgetting.
I didnt know this, I’ve been having a Daily Greens every day now for about 2 months and around 4 days out of 7, having 2 x Huel Black shakes (the other days having 1 shake). Am i over-doing it then in terms of the days im having 2 Huel Black shakes?
I wouldn’t like to say - perhaps @Amy_Huel from the nutrition team can help you out.
A serving of Daily Greens and two servings of Black Edition won’t take your total intake above the Tolerable Upper Intake Level (the maximum daily intake considered safe) for any vitamin or mineral. My only caution would be to consider if you have any other supplements in your routine that would further add to this, as well as think about the vitamin and mineral content of the other foods in your diet.
Thanks for this, i dont take any other supplements so should be fine then.
